I was actually wondering that last night...I could only see one star in the sky, and it was pissing me off.

The last time I remember seeing the stars at night was in Turkey, and before that when I went to friend's grandparents cottage on a lake in the country.

Lights are part of the city, but it also explains why the country folk see more UFOs.

it's easier to call them "wackos"

agreed - but there are lights/methods available right now, that light the ground rather then in a full 360 arc. Im just wondering if the ufo sightings that some parts of europe are now seeing is more - since legislation has been passed makin it illegal for some european states to light pollute the skys...)beleive poland has adopted this new legislation - have they had more ufo sightings since condemin light pollution?? maybe some research into this is needed - maybe we onto something here??

I don't believe it's a conspiracy... There is bound to be more now because we have such a number of lights.. Which have become cheaper and brighter..
Even though better technology is available to prevent it from being as bad as it is - it all costs money and is not always economically viable..
I don't think it's done on purpose - but it really does bug me!

Light pollution? What the hell... I have never heard of that. Still, interesting, how the sky glows at night. :-D
