Howdy Board Rulers,

I just received a warning concerning a post I made on a thread, about someone having problems with their dreams and I mentioned that if the OP was smoking weed, that would cause them to kNot remember their dreams, and if that was the case, then stop smoking weed and they'd remember their dreams again.

The warning said:

"ATS has an absolute zero tolerance policy with regards Any discussion of illegal drug use on the boards."

First, my comments were kNot illegal in nature, just words of advice. Really no different than suggesting someone kNot dew drugs, which should kNot violate the Rules.

Second, I happen to be where it isn't illegal to smoke weed (California) and since there are many places in the world that it isn't illegal and considering if ATS were to have a "zero tolerance policy" about ALL illegal activities, based on ALL laws of the world, We wouldn't be able to talk about anything. Case in pont, at this time, a thread is bannered on ATS that discusses prostitution, which is illegal in many areas of the world, including most states in the United States, yet there it is being bannered on ATS. I see nothing wrong with discussing that situation, but it is an illegal activity in most areas. So what would happen to me if I started a thread asking peeps their thoughts on legalizing weed, which several members also happened to mention in the prostitution thread? Did they also get a warning for discussing smoking weed, although kNot advocating breaking any laws?

My primary question is, how is it possible for anyone to know what laws ATS applies to its Rules, if laws are different worldwide? Plus, why can't We discuss things like smoking weed, as long as We are kNot advocating breaking any laws?

Just Say No

16e.) Illicit Activity: Discussion of illicit activities, specifically the use of mind-altering drugs & substances, engaging in computer hacking, promoting criminal hate, discussing sexual relations with minors, and furtherance of financial schemes and scams are strictly forbidden. You will also not link to sites or online content that contains discussion or advocacy of such material. Any Post mentioning or advocating personal use of illicit mind-altering drugs will result in immediate account termination.

ATS is not the place to talk about mind-altering drugs, and if a post is removed or you are advised to refrain from making such posts, it is not a matter for debate.

We routinely terminate accounts for this reason, and it is not a point to attempt to force in any way, shape or form. Like porn, it's one of the few things that can result in an immediate account ban.

For a more personal perspective, see: All Drugged Out

Rest assured, anyone who wants to make an issue of this by deliberately violating the terms & conditions or giving us any grief on the subject whatsoever will find themselves doing so as an ex-member.

The subject, discussion and any presumption of debate are closed, as is this thread.
