Just had an interesting thought that proves 1 of 2 things

I was just doing my normal routine today and I had an interesting and seemingly unexplainable thought.

How do we know that we are in a spiral galaxy? We supposedly have a probe on its way out of the galaxy, but still hasn't made it. To me, it seems the only way to know we are in a spiral galaxy, is to have been further beyond the galaxy, and looking back at it, or looking at it heading in its direction.

So does this basically prove we have been given information from beings from another world/galaxy?

Or is it proof that we have ventured further into the universe than we are being told.

One of the two MUST be true.

What do you all think?

Perhaps we have taken complex measurements from Stars in our Galaxy.



We have watched them move and determined that they belong to a system that we are a part of too.

your logic is flawed.

We "assume" we are in a spiral galaxy because we can see the bands in the night sky (milkyway) and have measured the density and clustering of the stars, and by observing other galaxies, it appears that we are in a spiral one.

Want to know how we know our galaxy is a spiral? Try this ......It's quite simple.

They decided that we are in a spiral galaxy the same way all scientific theories are developed... they wrote a bunch of random ideas on little bits of paper, placed them in a stove-pipe hat, and had a passer-by retrieve one.
