Let me first say that there is no conspiracy story here really, I am posting this more for some members that I think might find this interesting or pretty cool. I know for myself, anything to do with space intrigues me.

This LINK will actually take you to a page where you can view quite a few different views of earth from various satellites. There is a whole list from A-Z to pick from.

Im guessing there probably isnt any military ones, but then again I am not that familiar with them to know if one was military or not. Perhaps some of the wiser members here would know if they scrolled through the list.

There are different filters and thing you can apply as well. It does appear to post pretty close to real time as well.

I can't help but wonder if one watched any of them long enough if they would be able to catch something "unusual."

Anyhow, hope some ot you other space geeks out there enjoy this as I have. Never know when it might come in handy.

That's pretty cool. But no matter how long you watch you aren't going to see anything "unusual". You don't think they are real time images do you? Most of those satellites don't have cameras on them.

Probably simulations from the NASA Blue Marble series of satellites.

Those balloons don't get half the way into space. This is why we use rockets to launch satellites into orbit, because balloons need air to lift, when you run out of air, you have no more lift.

You really don't have to go too far up to see a black sky you know, like 80,000 feet will give you that look, and that is just over 15 miles up, a fraction of where space begins by 6 fold or more.

Neato though, students in California are sending up a balloon to view the next meteor shower that the Northern hemisphere will be best viewed at high noon in the day!

Wow! What a totally cool video! Imagine if 1000 people could float these suckers, and if it was possible to make them capable to stay up for a week or so - I bet some "interesting" things might get caught on the video!
