This is Awesome, People are figuring out how to change the laws keeping us from being self sufficient.

"The code change altered the definition of "home-based businesses," which previously required that it had to be indoors. The new code allows outdoor vegetables as long as farm equipment isn't needed to produce them."

If we stop buying and start growing our own vegetables we can now legally barter and sell Healthy Organic Foods in our own Community.

One more nail in Monsanto's Coffin!!

"Kitty Sharkey harvested 80 pounds of heirloom tomatoes Tuesday from the 3-by-24-foot raised bed at her home in the Havenscourt neighborhood of East Oakland. She thinks she could make up to $400 at a farmers' market, which would help her finances."

i cant beleive that you could not sell your produce that you grew yourself, where in the constitution does it say that you have to have a business licence or a permit to do this stuff? people need to stand up for there rights, we are the bosses of all the people who work for the goverment. they are the trustees of the public trust and we are the directors and the benifichiarys of the trust people, that is why it says we the people in order to form a more perfict union, it does not say elected by the people to rule with an iron fist over the mass's we need to wake up and take back our lives

I don't think we even need a permit to open a stand on the property. If we do, I don't think anyone really enforces it.

Not true....tptb close down lemonade stands if you don't have the proper permits, I live in a rural area. Most folks up here do grow their own veggies, and have chickens.cows...I have goats.

I make bath and body products with goats milk...soaps, lotions. In order to sell my products at the local farmers markets, I must pay for a monthly "permit"...plus a weekly use fee. PLUS, I must bring any new product in for review by a board of self-appointed, self-important, nosey bodies...this means I "get" to give away a lot of expensive product to pass the board test......in order to keep my permit. The government entitlement trickle down effect even reaches way up here in the boonies.
