He's already stated he has a great diet and vigilant excercise regime. So....naturally, eating more and supplementing protein and nutrient timing will build muscle (if he also lifts heavy stuff of the ground)

If you're not eating a ton, you're not gaining muscle. Period.

Would you like to revise your advice, or should we stay with eating a ton, before we gain ANY muscle?

Not really sure what you're doing here. People need to get it in their heads that the best piece of advice they need to gain muscle is EAT! Why would I retract that?

The best piece of advice anyone can get is to get the most out of each exercise session by always keeping a balanced diet, always challenging themselves, and always using proper form for each exercise, and not attempting to "learn" them, keeping track of one's progress each session by writing it down, and ya know what, that's more than one.
It all gets at the same original bit of advice, which is to get the most out of each session.

Sorry. But a "balanced diet" doesn't make a hard-gainer put on 10lbs of muscle in a few months. Or a year, even. Or ever.

BTW, what the hell is a balanced diet, anyway? It's such an ambiguous term. And if you mean calorically balanced, then, well...there's no way you can gain muscle without consuming more calories than you're burning...which is the opposite of balanced.

edit on 7-10-2011 by DevolutionEvolvd because: (no reason given)

Yeah, technically a balanced diet will look different for everyone since the body is different for each individual
