After almost 14 days they finally got ready to form their government, and now they are ready to tear our country apart.

(Reuters) - Denmark's first woman prime minister, Social Democrat Helle Thorning-Schmidt, named a three-party coalition government of 23 ministers on Monday, ending a decade of centre-right rule.

Thorning-Schmidt, whose "Red bloc" alliance won an election two weeks ago, has included the Socialist People's Party and Social Liberals in her coalition.

Her finance minister is her chief of staff and economic adviser Bjarne Corydon, 38, a newly elected member of parliament who is little known to the Danish public.

The new foreign minister is Socialist People's Party leader Villy Sovndal.

Thorning-Schmidt was due to present her government's policy programme at a news conference at 4:30 p.m. (1430 GMT). Reuters

The budget for 2012 is almost -20 bil $, inspite of this they declare "big reductions in tax". Those two things doesn't match and when you look deeper into the "list of ideas" you can find many things that doesn't match or help our Economy.

An example is that they want to increase taxes on tobaco, alcohol and fat
Offcause they got health as the argument, but all they will achieve with these increases in taxes is that more people will go to the german boarder to get these goods just like we did last time "the red block" was at power. Those who live far from the boarder will have to pay the tax those closer to the boarder used to pay (more or less).

The fat-tax is clear discrimination of normal build and educated people,....some of us need our precious fat....why should we be punished because more n more ppl dont care about what they eat and how they live? Fat is one of the three importent nutritions carbonhydrats, proteine and fat.

Another spot where the "red block" is going to punish our economy is with their blueeyed aproach to immigration. They want to open the boarders and make it a lot easyer to get citizenship. Not to be a racist, but its been proven multiple times that not all of the immigrants are good for the country. In fact theres a overrepresentation of 1. and 2. generation danes in most crime statistics. Theres also a huge over representation on social wellfare when you look at the immigrants and their decendants. The bad seeds is still a minority of the immigrants, but the numbers doesn't lie.

And yet another place they got super ambitions but didn't point out how to finance it is "green energy". They plan to reduce our carbondioxide emission by 40% in 2020 compared to our 1990 level. This could make new jobs, but i fear it will just be a bunch of new "polution" taxes, they already suggested to increase tax on normal cars and reduce tax on "green cars".

Theres also a few good things about this new government, I'm pretty sure if you ever hear our new foreign minister speak you'll have a laugh...he's english is pretty basic.

Another "good" thing is that we have our first woman prime minister, we also got the first foreign born minister as "minister of church" (stupid to use governmental time on that in my eyes, but atleast it proves that foreigners can achieve something in this country).

...This was the first day of their rule...the future here doesn't look to good especially for our economy.

Wow can't be easy being this racist and angry at everyone else. Raising the price on tobacco is good since this is PURE poison and so is Alcohol(Common sense). Fat is good but not the fat you find in mcdonalds or potato chips etc. If you did some light reading you would understand this. Thing is, if they tax the fat food they need to drop the prices on healthier products which in unlikely.
Please stop looking at things from one side... Try the whole picture, Every possible angle before you go and hate, Because hate doesn't serve anyone. Try love instead.

Sounds like your new government will run or have to run a larger deficit to meet its goals. If not that then maybe you all will be taxed into a new dark ages. Well, we're all sort of headed in that direction anyway.

I was saddened when the Red-block won because Denmark happens to be one of the most rational Western countries in regards to immigration. The social safety net was designed by the Danes for the Danes and luckily you know that enormous amounts of immigrants do not help the economy, as the internationalist left want you to believe, they will siphon out the public benefits. I do not blame you and your people for wanting to protect and preserve your heritage, nation, culture, and social safety because of utopian dreamers of a political persuasion.

This new Prime Minister of yours said she would not change the immigration laws that I do not believe. What Socialist, Liberal, or even Conservative in Europe has not opened up the borders for cheap labor to pour in so as to help their reelections and corporations pay less to their low wage employees? Immigration from third world nations does exactly that; undermines the culture, lowers native workers’ pay, and results in higher crime rates.

Somehow your government actually worked for you under Venstre but you can expect that to end.

Could be worse, you could be living in the Feminist Taliban of Sweden... But then again most western nations are one step away from feminist bigots pulling a similar take over.

Said from someone who's in a minority group himself?

No I'm definatly not racist, some of my best friends are foreigners who got trouble speaking our language mkay?

I got nothing against the average immigrant, but I dont like how they are overrepresentated in crimestatistics often by 200% compared to etnical danes. Also the fact that many of them live in Ghettos not trying to learn the language or getting a job pisses me off. Those who come should benefit whit what they have to offer, the only exception to this would be people who fleed from war and similar, but even those should be offered a job after XX months.

I agree tobaco and alcohol may not be very healthy, but as i mentioned these taxes aint going to reduce the consumerism only move it to Germany. We already pay pay 2/3 of the tobacco price to the government as tax. And just so you know it small amounts of dark chocolate and wine is actually healthy for your body.

About the fat-tax. Yea theres diffrent kinds of fat, but the law doesn't distinguis none-saturated and saturated fat's. I dont need the state to nurse me and tell me what to eat, just because 30+% of my country is fat and lazy people who dunno or dont care abuot how and what they should eat.

This ain't racism but liberalism.

Well said.
When Venstre was leading, they worked together with the conservatives, but also Danish people's party who is a guarrenty for strict but fair boarder and immigration rules.

About the immigrationlaws theres already multiple statements on laws the red's want to soften, they also announced they are removing bordersecurity asap.

The red block is the best thing that could happen. Where have you been in the last 10 years where blue block gave away un-financed tax deductions for the upper class, initiated idiot laws in both crime and integration, which several times have proven to be on the verge of breaking human rights.

Tax on fat is not about collecting money, it IS about health. Of course red block can't control the miss informed and spineless people that "need" their precious fat, but they can create an incentive for those who actually do care about their body that there are better solutions than buying food with large amounts of fat in it.

For those outside our borders, the various producers of processed foods like sliced food etc. have a very nice system in which they are allowed to mark their products with a keyhole or a certain logo if their product lives up to the high demands in standard regarding amount of fat and other additives.

Hopefully the fat tax will help people seeing the difference between the healthy foods and the bad ones.

A very nice move considering Denmark has moved up the list of fat nations in the world

Alcohol tax is a given. We in Denmark have been far too liberal in regards to our alcohol policies. It's almost like we try to defend our EXTREME consumption of alcohol with our forefathers, the vikings, own use of alcohol. It's the naive and again misinformed attitude of the younger generation "it's always been like this and should remain so....!!!11!".... makes me wanna throw up.

Tobacco... I really don't need to explain this, do I?

In fact I think that as long as we have an institution as the EU, the law of increased taxes on tobacco and alcohol should be unified across the board. There should be no incentive to go across the border to get ones fix.

Tobacco and alcohol are poison in the human system. Neither rewards anything than a dumbed down generation that in turned will teach their kids that they too should fight for these products to remain in their lives.
Spirits are nerve poison, beer contains as many calories as bread, and fat, well... fat is fat and is really only good for you in small amounts.

If you want to die from cancer, heart failure, circulatory failure etc. feel free to protect your right to keep the above in your life. Just don't expect any normally thinking people to understand or sympathize with you.

Now that you decided to slam the Red Block... maybe we should check out the good things they are planning:

- Tax deductions from a social point of view. Everyone will receive the same amount of deduction regardless of income.

- The green tax on petrol cars is a long waited one. I for one hope that it will come to be and that they will channel some of that money into making it sensible to buy an electric car, cheap to invest in solar or wind power etc.

- Bumping the criminal age back up to 15 from 14... kids are criminals, they have just been suffering from a government that didn't want to take initiative to help them throughout the last 10 years.

- Removing the one time fee needed for application of citizenship. It wasn't really helping us avoid the bad seeds in immigration, it was however preventing a lot of "normal" families or people in love from being together. I for one had a colleague who fell in love with a decent well educated guy from Africa, but they couldn't be together because of the system.

- The idiot knife law... seriously, carpenters or hardhat workers were being fined and had their wrap sheet stained because they were carrying a work knife in their tool belt or in their car after hours. I mean wtf... Red Block will remove this law.

- Strengthen the consumers. The last government were pretty much toys of the Danish Industry. They didn't dare making laws in fear of how DI would react to them. This time consumers will be thought of in regards to legislations on the market. It will become easier for consumers to complain and demand satisfactory products and service from these greedy bastards.

- There will be NO MORE bailouts... something we needed to see after the first one. Don't spend people tax crowns on fueling banks survival when they have clearly outlived themselves. I know you Americans know what I'm talking about.

- Education... I happen to know a lot of teachers. Just before blue block came to power 10 years ago, Denmark in fact, had some of the best educated school kids in the world. We dropped several places during these 10 years.
Amongst the reasons are:
--- The firing of teachers
--- Adding more students to each class
--- Cutting money to improve educational equipment or making it possible for kids to learn how to swim. Im not kidding... one school has it so bad that they are teaching dry swimming.

Red block will issue a ceiling on kids in each class and hopefully make it possible to rehire the teachers.

Go RED!

Worked in the sense that more was given to the rich and less to those with less.
I guess some capitalists would call that "working as intended".

No... Venstre has torn this country apart. I just looked nice on the surface.

To long answer to quote you.
I've been In Denmark dude, and Ive seen what both blocks got to offer, and I dont like what any of the say.

If the fat-tax was about health they should make it about health. Only put tax on the unhealthy fat and maybe match this tax to your BMI
If you know anything about nutritions you would know fat is importent for your health and body.

I have to agree that alcohol and especially tobacco aint healthy. My rant here is that with increased taxed you send the money to Germany you dont improve health. There is one good benefit from increased tax on these that may help on a long scale. It might help the youth's so they start with these "nasties" later.

You'r wrong about alcohol being poison for the body, in small amounts its healthy. Offcause if you drink a lot (more than half a glass of wine a day), you lose this healthbenefit.

About the "Red's" poletics.

- The social tax reduction sounds very intriguring, but i want to see it before i believe it. They already told that its NOT a tax reduction but that its a redistribution to other taxes.

- Who got money to buy new cars in Denmark? Definatly not "the poor" who will have to pay for these technologies via green taxes on their "old" cars and houses and also from increased petroltax.

- If your old enough to violently attack old women on the street or make a armed robbery your also old enough to take the consequences, so i kind of disagree with you. We seen to much youth crime in the past to just ignore it.

- Removing the onetime fee and braindead knifelaw is good.

- I can't disagree with more power to the consumers either.

- No more bailouts?? when did you hear that and where? Again I hope you'r right but I want to see it before I believe it.

- I know about the poor conditions of our schools, I work as a teacher and have to agree that here the Red's could make a huge diffrence. The biggest problem with the schools today is burocracy we spend far to much time away from the classroom as teachers.
The clip about dryswimming in TV the other day made me LOL for minuts, even thou its a bit sad.
Even thou I face the problems you mention every day, It wasn't enough to make me vote for the "red block", because i fear they cant control the economy, time will show us.

Ok, I admit calling you a racist was going to far. But you fail to see that it is the system in it's core that does these things. Were do all these immigrants live? In one special neighborhood/town where they all get sent? Crimes are probably higher there because they don't have any money when they arrive, You have to understand that most of these people probably has nothing at all left in their lives and feel a lot of frustration(Probably some ahole blew up their house or killed their parents for example), just like you do. It's easy to say they are all criminals/bad people etc. But just try a little and look at what situation they get put in. Sure there are troublemakers, But these come from every kind not just people from other countries. I have been traveling for 3 years now and I have lived/spent time with people from all over the world in these years. There is so much to things that what you normally would think.

It's so easy to judge everyone else isn't it

The first sign of a person who has failed to come up with any rational argument of their own is to dehumanize another.

But you fail to see that it is the system in it's core that does these things. Were do all these immigrants live? In one special neighborhood/town where they all get sent?

No law stipulates where one has to live, they make these choices to be amongst their own people.

Crimes are probably higher there because they don't have any money when they arrive

So why were they allowed in to begin with if they had no financial ability to provide for themselves save the tax payer money of their new 'host nation'?

You have to understand that most of these people probably has nothing at all left in their lives and feel a lot of frustration(Probably some ahole blew up their house or killed their parents for example), just like you do.

Their problems become our problems why exactly? We should feel sympathy and be forced to deal with criminal activity and welfare addicted immigrants because 'they had a bad life'? Do not give me that bs story, every person chooses how they will conduct themselves, if you steal, rape, murder, etc... It is because you chose to engage in such activities.

It's easy to say they are all criminals/bad people etc.

Not all of them but the majority is not exactly 'upstanding citizens'.

But just try a little and look at what situation they get put in.

Once again you are trying to force their problem on me; they are immigrants who do not belong here in the first place without a guaranteed income, housing, and someone signing on their behalf.

Sure there are troublemakers, But these come from every kind not just people from other countries.

We have to deal with the troublemakers in our own country because it is their country as well, but you are saying we should also have to put up with the world's troublemakers? And why is that?

I have been traveling for 3 years now and I have lived/spent time with people from all over the world in these years. There is so much to things that what you normally would think.

It's so easy to judge everyone else isn't it

Because you are a big traveler you obviously have a far superior intellect to someone like me or the OP right? We know certain things that elude you, such as what it means to protect a people and their culture or what damage immigrants do to the income, health, and welfare of the native populations.

Didn't say a law, And don't give me that they choose it. Take a look in society and you will see they get pushed there if they don't have any money.

---

Why shouldn't they be allowed? Every person in this world has the right to have all the chances in life. Maybe the former dictator in their country stole all their life savings? You have to understand that there is more behind it than just taking over ones country. Imagine if you had to move somewhere u had no money but you could get to a country called Denmark or otherwise you would be shot the next day...Is this hard for you to see things like this?

---

Again, You fail to see that it is the system that is flawed in it's core

---

Oh, and what do you base that on? All your people are all good guys who don't do the exact same bs... please...

---

Don't belong there? It's everyone earth you know. A lot of problems today is because everyone has to go through bs documents to be able to live somewhere else on the earth. Do you really think that if everyone could move where ever they wanted we would still have ppl starving in Africa? but anyway back to you. Well everything you had just got taken away and you have to start from 0, How are you gonna do it? you have a family to feed.. is it so bad to help these people out til they can get back to their feet? What if this happened to you wouldn't you be happy to know that it can be ok because everyone is helping you....? its easy to sit in the comforts of your home and judge people ey?

---

Why can't you deal with them? is there something different with them? Other than being born x kms from you? don't think so

---

Well I might not be more intelligent than you or maybe I am, I do not really care. What I do have is a little different view of the world, Working the strangest jobs to get to the next place, Sleeping outside, Spending time with some random locals for a barbeque and hear all the story's from their culture... I don't know it's a big subject and hard to grasp for others who do not travel much. Your culture will stay as long as you and your people continue to do them no one will take them away only you by saying other people destroys them...

---
Sorry for the quote thing, I am new to this site and hasn't figured out how it all works yet.

The real problem is not that they enter the country and live here. The problem with FAR to many of the "foreigners" is they do not care to try and learn the language, if they cant speak the language they wont get any work. Especially not if they got "Arab or Muslim" look, because as i mentioned those groups also got a big overrepresentation in crimestatistics. This is minor rasicm from the companies, but honestly I can understand they prefere someone who can talk with all employees. As i already mentioned i dont share this view completly and got friends in the "bad linguist group". Both me and MOST of the immigrants actually despice those who doesn't try to aid their new country, but is here only to try to milk the wellfaresystem. Because of the bad seeds the average immigrant got a lot more walls to break down to be accepted in society.
Living in Ghettos definatly dont help them either. They should spread instead, if you visit smaller villages in Jylland (Juttland) you will see that "every" immigrant got a job-offer and that a lot of these immigrants speak the language because they are forced to learn it in a smaller society (exaggerating a little). The argument about money and ghettos aint true, the cheapest town to buy a place to live in Denmark aint the 5 major cities, but smaller villages on the west coast, where you sometime can buy a decent house at around 70.000 $. A similar home in Copenhagen or Aarhus might cost 3-400.000$...and thats if your lucky. (on the other hand living expenses is more ecpensive in the villages, you might have to pay 3x price for bread as an example, but they you get you groceries in a semilarge neighbourtown).
Moving to the "country" also pose a problem to the average immigrant because here they will have trouble finding others of same belief and "thought-system". So they either have to isolate themself or mingle with the average "paleskinned" Dane. Mingling aint bad, but I also understand that it's great to have someone close who understand your roots and situation. If i moved to the US i wouldn't throw away my danish roots even if i became an american citicen....but I would work with the language and try get a job asap.

Yes, there will be the same number of people starving in Africa, for everyone who leaves, another two will be born. Only the Africa will also arrive in Europe. We should help Afficans to improve their country, not flee.

Don't belong there? It's everyone earth you know.

Then share your house with the homeless. Just as you have a right to refuse sharing your house with random people from the street, citizens of a country have a right to refuse immigration. Country-house analogy.

I heard Denmark was the Canada of Europe is that true?

OT: Being American(If it wasn't obvious by my ignorant statement up there) and close to our on elections I don't know much about Denmark at all or its politics. But form what you have told I'll give you a run down of what I see.

1. On the Taxes
Sounds like a freedom tax more than a health tax to me. Oh sure you allowed to enjoy the things you like despite being unhealthy but you give your dues to government!!!

2. Again I don't know much about who immigrates to Denmark, but my stance on Immigration has always been open boarders and loving arms, its better than having them come over illegal and soaking up benefits without paying taxes or become wage slaves because they can't go for minimum wage. Or having them raped/mugged/killed and afraid to report out of fear of being deported. Or having them turn to crime by being forced to live in ghettos in bad areas to avoid the police out of fear of deportation.

Just my views and opinion, which are limited when it comes to Across the pond I would like to remind you again!

Not sure how Canada and Denmark compares, since I know to little about Canada to make anything but lose asumptions.

Denmark is a lot smaller than the US or Canada, were only 5,5 million inhabitants total. We cant just let 100k immigrants enter it would destroy us, so we need stricks immigrationrules. Because of the size of the country you can't hide as a illigal immigrant for long and unless you'r a criminal you wont get any cash. As soon as the government "discover a illigal" they are send to a immigrationcamp untill their case has been tried/trialed? In this camp they get the basics...like a place to sleep and food, toiletfacilities and thats about it.

Most of the people who immigrate here is arabs and muslims from countries/places like afghanistan, palestina, Iraq, Somalia. If they could get a job and assist the society instead of being a "burden" that live in ghettos and milk the system, I would welcome them all.

It's a lot easyer said than done. The bad seed's made a bad name for the average immigrant, so if your a little darkskinned or got a "weird" lastname you will have a harder time finding a job compared to the paleskinned blueeyed danes. Allthou the companies claim they hire the best qualified, its not always the case, and in this area I have to admit Denmark is a bit Racistic.
