Another Animal acting wierd Thread

No, my dog doesn't have any herding breed in her ancestry whatsoever. So her attempts to herd me are awkward, but still effective. I am a Christian, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and I have had paranormal experiences that, when I talk about them at all, I try to keep on the Paranormal or Gray Area part of the forum while I leave Fragile Earth discussions as "scientific" as possible. I feel it's too easy to go astray drawing any conclusions when our "evidence" is just a loose collection of odd but interesting observations with no hard facts behind them. So I'm as leery to say "A natural disaster is coming" as I am to say "the veil is thinning," when I lack sufficient suporting evidence, especially on Fragile Earth. I highly value the educated scientific discussions that have taken place here and taught me so much and helped me become a better observer and critical thinker.

You are more than welcome to click on my posting information and view my posting history. You will probably find the kind of posts from me that confirm some of your speculation. I've posted about Shadow people and yes, I've felt at times my home had less than wholesome "vibes" going on. But...At this point, even to myself, I don't even attempt to mix the paranormal observations with the Fragile Earth type observations I am making. I want to just put the evidence on the table as I see it, keep an open but balanced, ordered, and reasonable mind, and just watch and see where it takes me.

I go with the VLF theory...
Earthquakes and tremors produce Very low frequency or VLF refers to radio frequencies (RF) in the range of 3 kHz to 30 kHz to low for us to hear but it drives dogs nuts...

Any idea on how far in advance of the earthquake happening would the dogs start hearing this vibration? Days/minutes/seconds? I still remember that video of the dog on youtube looking down at the ground and then getting up really quickly and darting across the room in a high-rise a few seconds before the quake was noticeably felt. www.youtube.com...

Sometimes animals just act weird. Yes, I do believe that animals are sensitive to things that we aren't. But at the same, just because they are acting weird, this does not mean that something weird is going on. Sometimes animals just act weird.

Once I thought my dog was acting weird... Turned out the dog next door was just in heat and it was making my dog crazy.

Well that's the tricky part... they know when the plates start to show stress this VLF is produced... but you can have a VLF wave without having a quake...OF course I got a Buddy... lives up there in Helena... worse singing voice ya ever heard... could be the dog has picked up on ole Doug a singing in the shower...??? would drive me nuts too...

Definitely agree. That's the great thing about posting on a message board though. Maybe it is only one dog, but if the number of dog reports start to be be confirmed by a huge amount more users then maybe they could be warning us about something. Maybe only a few dogs end up acting strange and it's nothing out of the ordinary, but if no one posts it and just keeps it to themselves then we might end up missing a warning sign.

I don't post a lot on here but I had to put my two cents in as well. I have two older female cats both rescued as kittens ( one a barn cat that was wild and the other was found in the ditch by my mail box). The barn cat never has liked to be touched at all and the mail box cat only ever really liked me, anyway in the last two weeks I have also noticed the barn cat following my wife and kids around constantly and wanting attention and the mail box cat is in my lap the min. I sit down. Now I don't know what could be causing this but very strange behavior indeed. I live in Washington state BTW.......Keep the post coming.

My dog has settled down some but he is still acting strange, and he has been to the vet recently.

I am in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and my dog is a Great Pyrenees, a herding dog. Actually, the past couple of days, he has come directly back inside after he does his business, where he usually likes to sit outside and watch and protect his property!

That sounds like a reasonable theory. So far I've noticed at least on this thread those of us reporting in with odd animal behavior live near a known fault line or where activity has recently taken place or reasonably could reasonably be expected to take place.

I sometimes spend vacations in South Carolina and even my critically skeptical husband once was witness to the strangest rumbling and feeling on the beach he has ever experienced in a forty year lifetime of summers there. It was not the pounding of the surf or the military planes we used to see there years ago, of which none were to be seen at that moment, definitely. It was either some new experimental craft, or something natural but unprecedented for us in that area. The sound gave a disquieting feel to it, too. Something about it made even my husband want to pack us up and go indoors and get out from the open sky. It was a very deep rumbling that was not a normal surf sound.

Oh Bo, I want to apologize if it sounded in my previous post like I was trying to shut you up or disrespect your point of view. That wasn't my intention. I'm open to entertaining all sorts of possiblities but I think yours fits better on a different part of ATS, and if you want to or already did start such a discussion elsewhere on ATS, I'm more than happy to read it and possibly participate if I have anything constructive to add.

I haven't gotten to going to a different post of yours elsewhere on ATS. Today is my heavy teaching day so not sure when I'll get to it.

I wonder if you have kept a journal of the more tangible, hard nosed, observations with your animals?

You could even quantify them on a scale of 1-10 in terms of intensity, frequency, strangeness etc. and look at the record over days or weeks to see how they changed or didn't. That could end up quite telling, if not valuable info.
