Now this is why I like a beer before replying. It gets me all talkative and waxing lyrical. Instead of waning cynical. Otherwise I more resemble the grumpy old buggers who usually/often/sometimes/maybe start the debunking threads or debunking comments. Yes, grumpy people...anyway

"You are all wrong and this is why, you dumbasses!"

Will somebody please #ing spare me from the brutal arrogance and general tone of condescension from some of the thread posters and their "friends" around here? See, swearing for effect is not all bad. It adds emphasis when used correctly, not rudeness. I could just as easily have used the wrong variant to emphasise my point, but I didn't. All good family fun still. But here's my point, calling someone stupid for either being stupid, clueless, or having a different opinion to you is just tacky. So #ing stop it! (No profanity filter dodging here!) Again, that was emphasis, not rudeness. See why censorship and language itself sometimes suck? Speaking as a native english speaker in a foreign country, good manners have to come before all else. I would just like to emphasise that point. Like my old Dad used to say "There's a big difference between a joke and a Pantomime."

Put differently....

You are not me, you do not get to call me names no matter how veiled, and you certainly most never get to ram your opinions down my throat like those duck they overfeed corn with in order to fatten the liver for Pate de Fwa Gra..... So state yer case and remain polite and courteous instead of making yerself look like overbearing, intolerant dorks. Dorks eat with sporks, and in large, gentle groups with mild medical supervision. Eventually....

"Would Sir like the red or the blue pill for dinner today?"

This was my rant. Thanks for reading and wasting a few seconds of your life. Did I mention some of the trolls? Oops.... no, thank god!

Peace.

While I certainly agree that courteousness is a virtue, I think that like swearing, it has its time and place. Sometimes, people are so completely willfully ignorant, and often try to spread the source of their ignorance, that they deserve nothing but scorn in response, lest they continue to spread their #ing idiocy like a disease.

That was kinda my point though, if someone else seems to either completely or partially ignore what you just said...and even present you with a new list to work on, whats the point? I think I just needed to rant a little though and I am grateful you replied. A little real contact with someone on an emotional level I guess. Are you married by the way? Would you like to be? I'm kidding! .....you're probably a male.

Peace

I have never thrown petrol on the flame of a rant, and I have no idea why I'm doing it now, but let's give it a go. Then I think I'll get a beer. On second thought, my post will probably be deleted, so one beer just won't be sufficient. I wish I could have them with you, you sound fun.

Well, of course that's what GOB's are going to say, isn't it? Listening to the dumbest comments that mankind can even imagine, held together with tissue paper logic, and presented with ridiculous grammar and unspeakable spelling, what else are they supposed to say? Be grateful that they stop with "dumbasses" and don't continue into the "spicier" variants you mention. And they take precious time out of their lives to explain why people are all wrong. That's how you learn.

Will somebody please #ing spare me from the brutal arrogance and general tone of condescension from some of the thread posters and their "friends" around here?
Oh dearie, dearie. You're objecting to a "general tone of condescension" from "some" of the posters? People who make that complaint have usually spent their time in the music and cooking forums, or they're brand new.

But here's my point, calling someone stupid for either being stupid, clueless, or having a different opinion to you is just tacky. So #ing stop it! (No profanity filter dodging here!)
Your position is that calling someone who is stupid, "stupid" violates the "no tackiness" term and condition? Shall I address them as what, "intellectually challenged?" "Daft?"

You are not me, you do not get to call me names no matter how veiled, and you certainly most never get to ram your opinions down my throat like those duck they overfeed corn with in order to fatten the liver for Pate de Fwa Gra..... You mean you are the only one who gets to call you names? What happens if someone else calls you a name? They blow up? You blow up? By the way, I'm glad you're so strongly opposed to ramming opinions down other's throats.

Well, to be fair, some opinions are stupider than others but that's a whole new ball game. Not a reference to you btw. And I did star yer post

The rabbit hole run deep, deeper, and deepeth. Maybe even several layers underneath that. Looking on the bright side, the beer is not all gone. Call it Friday night conspiracy. Even while reasonably inebriated I can remain polite and on topic.

And now yer just being silly! If someone called me a name I would be obliged to take out a contract on their life...you are not quite yet a 33rd degree Mason?

*relaxes somewhat*

PS. I sound fun? Thanks for the compliment but I am much less than fun, more possibly a nightmare. Or at least fun combined with some kinda illness. Well maybe not that bad either but pff, stop putting me on the spot! I feel like I'm naked and lit from all the wrong angles! Not a good thing at my age. Cough cough! You do have a way with words, should you happen to be a woman in reality...
