Some thoughts on transfer of energy

I woke up this morning, and the idea that the world is one big perpetual motion machine. Remove any possibility that the world will be destroyed, or any environmental disasters like global warming and you have a self sustaining circulation of energy.

One perplexing thing thing that i thought of is where did the energy come from to start life on this planet? I mean start with the theory of evolution (just for the sake of argument), if it all started from a one celled life-form, and that cell divided and so on. Then it evolved into plants, then animals, where did the energy come from to allow the massive increase in life? I started thinking that this must be proof of free energy, its gotta be coming from somewhere, right?

Then I started typing this thread, and another thought popped into my head. All the energy comes from the sun. And I just answered my own question. But it still is a very interesting topic, i've never thought about it from this perspective. You can ignore me if you so wish.

Eventually the sun WILL die and totally consume the earth so strictly speaking the earth is entirely dependent on the sun.

Not all life is dependant on the sun. Look at the animals that live off hydrothermal vents in the ocean. There is no sunlight there. This shows life can be sustainted almost anywhere is almost impossible to suppress the water they live in is practically boiling sulfur. All this energy is created by the earth itself not by the sun.

Without the sun i dont think the earths core would stay at such a high temperature or even gotten to that state in the first place,correct me if im wrong.

Yeah the earth wouldn't be warm but the plate mechanics and temperature and pressure that far under the earth would still produce heat and this heat would still make hydrothermal vents. There is volcanic activity on other planets also. This energy is unrelated to sunlight.
