CA Tsunami Dream this morning

I was awoken by a very realistic and disturbing dream this morning. Maybe some of you can take it apart a little and tell me what it means, if anything.

So in the dream, I was in San Francisco, in a very large mall. I kept getting lost and turned around in the dream. At one point in the dream, I befriended two women, one was in a wheelchair, but she could get around really well on her wheels. I was trying to visit a library or bookstore located in the mall, and was checking out rows and rows and rows of books. I decided since I kept getting lost, to head back home. (Despite I live in San Diego, not SF..but you know how dreams go..)

As I was turned around in a stairwell, I looked around me and thought that it would be a bad place to be in a bad earthquake. Then, as if triggered by my thoughts, the building started to shake a little. Nothing huge, but very noticeable. The shaking came in long, drawn out waves. I made a dash for an EXIT and ended up outside, once again meeting up with the two women.
Once outside, we got stuck trying to walk through a crowd of singing people, who were singing gospel and religious type songs. I guess they were putting on a performance. Suddenly there was a loudspeaker urging people to tune in to local AM radio for an Emergency Announcement. They played the announcement and said that a very large earthquake had struck in the Pacific and would hit the CA coast within 12-15 hours. Kind of an odd timeframe I guess, but that is how the dream presented it.
Very alarmed, I tried desperately to call my Mom's cellphone to warn her and could not get the phone to dial her #. Each time it would ring, a State Farm agent would answer! (Which is bizarre as I own no policies..) I kept telling the man that I was trying to reach my family, and why had he taken the number?? He got annoyed and would hang up. Freaked out, I told the two women I had to get home to my family and it would take so long to get home, the tsunami would be there by then.
Suddenly, in a blink, my family was with me. We were in a house on top of a hill looking down into a valley. I remember discussing with them that we thought we were safe since we were very high up. We decided to stay and not flee. At one point we realized that if the tsunami was so huge that it actually overtook that hill, it would be a world-shattering event anyway and at least we were all together.
I woke up soon after that, awaiting the tsunami.

Any ideas of what that is all about? It was one of the few dreams I have had where I am able to recall almost every detail upon awakening!

These disaster dream posts are becoming annoying, the fact of the matter is most, if not all dreams come from the subconscious. In other words you would only have to read a post on here or watch a film about a tsunami or other such disaster to have a dream scenario in which the subconscious would inject what you have read or viewed into your dream, its that simple.
Watching a film like 2012 could cause you to have dreams of similar disasters for years after.

Just a normal dream, you can tell by the lay-out.

Dream sequences go from pleasant and normal - to a little weird - to scary and dark. And then that dream is over. Each part shorter than the previous.

I wouldn't worried about it.

The undersea topography of the California coastline does not make a tsunami very likely to damage much.
I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I would blame Sarah Palin or the Tea Party for the tsunami... just dont blame Bush, Obama already took that.

Way to go for remembering so much detail!! I would say if you keep working at remembering, you could have this clear of a recollection every morning. My trick is to lay still in bed with my eyes closed after waking and go through the events from freshest in my mind back, I will be surprised with things I had forgotten every time. With dreams, the messages are usually (for me) in the clearest and most seemingly trivial details. The message usually lies within whatever you remember the clearest, and perhaps not so much in the overall subject matter.
The detail in this dream that sticks out for me is exiting into the crowd of gospel singers and the woman in the wheelchair. This is truly out of place and if you remember it then it must have some significance. I am a big believer in dream dictionaries, and I know a lot of people aren't, but I feel like if I don't know the person and what's going on in their life intimately, I'm kind of crap at providing any insight without one. So here is my shot at an interp.

Okay so you are in the mall. It's not your normal home but it's your home in the dream. You meet two women, one in a wheelchair. I would search my mind for details of this woman. If she is someone you know, she could need your help in real life, if she is not she may represent some part of yourself that is "disabled" or in need of some therapy. Really try to grasp who she is or what she was wearing even, if there was some type of relationship between you or any colors that might stand out. It's representative of SOMETHING that needs your help.
You go searching for a book store, but you keep getting turned around. This is a hunt for information, clarity, wisdom. You keep getting lost, so something in your waking life keeps changing in your search for answers on something, so you continue to get "Turned around". You do make it to the bookstore, the shelves and books represent levels of your mind, so if you saw a ton of them you have very many layers to go through to get to whatever solution it is you are seeking on your path, and some annoying circumstance keeps disorienting you.
The staircase usually represents your spiritual path or journey. I don't know if you were walking up or down, but if you were just in it and not moving when the earthquake happened then I would say you are experiencing some kind of upheavel on your spiritual journey. Self-induced sub-conciously, even, as you seemed to make this happen with your thoughts. Something has shaken you up and "frozen" you where you are on that spiritual path. You do escape though, so it doesn't last for long.
The wonderful thing about your escape is that you escaped into a crowd of people singing gospel. I would say this signifies that just outside of your spiritual shake up is a spiritual convergence. You get "stuck" in it, but you can't participate because of some overwhelming threat you sense in your waking life to you and your family (Tsunami)
Tsunami's in dreams are indicative to some unconscious waking issue that is overwhelming you. That is the context to the entire dream, in the end you seem to come to some sort of higher ground, being on top of the mountain you and your family have overcome this issue and feel safe, and accepting. It's some sort of higher understanding of the problem, in that you know it is possible that it could still effect you, but for this time you have overcome it and made peace with it.
So in a nutshell...Some overwhelming waking issue is under the surface and becoming a threat to you and your family. You are diligently seeking out answers to help you with this, and your two guides or friends are with you. One is in need of your help, she can "get around it" but is still handicapped in some manner (like I said, may represent something in you that is "getting by" but still handicapped by a problem). Something keeps turning you around making it hard to get to your answers, once there you are overwhelmed and just want to go home because the issue is threatening your family (perhaps you feel guilt for seeking answers as you feel it may neglect your family somehow?). You are on a path to some spiritual awakening but something inside you keeps shaking it up and you are stuck at the same place. You will overcome this, and experience some spiritual harmony once you have overcome the threat facing the family. In the end, you obtain higher understanding and your family is safe from the threat. I don't know what to say about the State Farm Agent
it did make me chuckle though. I'd say this represents some sort of feeling that you "can't get through" to your family concerning something, but they come around in the end.
Anyway that's my long drawn-out armchair dream interpretation. I am no professional, that's just how I'd look at it if it were mine
I may be way off but I hope it helps!

Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to dissect my dream and address each issue! I think your analysis is right on. I am going through an inordinate amount of stress right now and trying to get answers. The two women in the dream, I do not know who they are, only that they were friendly and accepting. I do have to wonder if they indeed represent parts of myself that I have a hard time coming to terms with. They seemed to need each other somehow. The disabled woman, despite being pretty adept at getting around, needed some kind of oxygen device intermittently, and therefore could not stray to far from her friend, who helped her. Very interesting!

As for the stairwell, I was not going up or down..just standing in one with the option to go up, but not sure if I wanted to. There was also a large cut out hole in the steel flooring that was not roped off and I was worried about stepping in it.

As for my family, they are everything to me, and my concern for them overwhelms most aspects of my life.

I feel very positive now, from reading your assessment. Thanks again!

Hey! Wow!! this is very strange indeed, your dream sounds very much like my dream...

here is the connection www.abovetopsecret.com...

This is getting very serious, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this kind of dream, but how often this happens to us in a daily basis?

I think you should get out of California as soon as possible, even if I'm wrong at least you tried, and if I'm right? Think about it. I do not whant to fear you, but look at the coincidence of your dream and mine? I'll be in touch with you if you don't mind.

I know that we are on the brink of the 7 year tribulation that the Bible tells us about. It says the waves of the sea will be roaring. There is also a 17 year old boy that had a dream while in the hospital with a head injury in 1937. It was a great earthquake and tsunami. The sixth seal mentioned in the book of Revelation is a great earthquake. Here is his dream...he does mention San Fransisco... life-tabernacle.net...
Also there is a U.S. Navy map of the future that shows extreme flooding...www.youtube.com...
