HRL Laboratories, LLC, announced it will develop new energy absorption materials with unprecedented energy capture and distribution mechanisms that may one day enable improved protection from impact or blast events. HRL will develop this groundbreaking materials technology for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

So, are we one step closer to the "force field"?
