From the Guardian

11 British MP are planning to impeach Tony Blair for high crimes and misdemeanors

Under the ancient right, which has never been repealed, it takes only one MP to move a motion and the Speaker has to grant a debate on the impeachment. This means, at the least, Mr Blair will have to face a fresh debate on his personal handling of the war and there will have to be a vote in parliament on whether to institute impeachment proceedings

It was started by a Welsh MP for the Welsh nationalist party 'Plaid Cymru'.

Personally i dont think it will happen, sure they will rumble on about it but in the end slippery Tony will wriggle off the hook.I think he took lessons from John Gotti or something. Nothing ever seems to stick.

Blair needs to be impeached, he has betrayed the British people with his lies, the people didn't want the war and he ignored them.
Labour will be voted out next election anyway. Everyone is fed up with the soft, cowardly approach to everything.

This wont happen, remember last time when everyone thought that Howard would call for a motion of confidence and he nore anyone else called for it, didnt happen. But it would be interesting if it did happen

Tony Blair will not be impeached. Dream on.

A handful of publicity seeking UK MP's will make a splash in a couple of papers for a column or two and maybe get 10mins on tv. Yawn.

But when the next UK general election is called in spring 05 (possibly as late as 06, the last possible date legally but most unlikely) Tony Blair and the British Labour party will win by a 3rd landslide.

Thanks to the way the UK 'first past the post' electoral system works and the polling numbers as they stand right now this result is cast-iron guaranteed - barring the most unlikely huge all time record 'swing' within the next 9mths.....and no-one is polling numbers that indicate any such swing (to achieve this feat they should be and they should be sustaining it, they are not nor nothing remotely like it).

No matter what anyone's views on the desireability of the result.

Get over it.
