Cancer drug trial halted for being too successful

A London hospital's trial of a prostate cancer drug has been stopped early because it was so successful doctors felt it would be "unethical" to deny the treatment to other patients.

Medics halted tests of the life-extending drug because it would have been "unethical" not to offer the treatment to all 922 cancer sufferers taking part in the trial.

Patients who were given the drug found that it eased pain and caused only minor side effects.

The new drug accurately targets tumours using alpha radiation, which doctors conducting the study said is the most effective form of radiation to eliminate cancer because it limits damage to surrounding tissue.

It's not everyday you hear of a trial being stopped because it is too successful.

It's great that we are finding all these new ways to combat cancer and hopefully they just continuously improve the methods that are released to the public. Although I am of the mind they can cure it, it would just put too many people out of work and take money out of their pockets.

My favorite part...

"It would have been unethical not to offer the active treatment to those taking placebo," Dr. Parker said.

We need more doctors that have the same sort of thinking as this man...

Any thoughts?

So they didn't give it to anyone?
How is that more ethical?
Something strange there.

Somehow, sounds about right.

As far as I can tell, cancer has been "curable" for quite a while now. That idea alone is enough to make you sick with the implications of it.

No, They gave it to everyone. They didn't think it was fair to have some people on a placebo, while the others were doing so well with very little side effects.

I've said it for years. There is NO money in the Strong and Healthy. The only money to make in the Medical Industries is When your between dead and alive. And that's how they keep you. If you want to be strong, and never get sick, and use your BODY to heal you and not drugs. Go look up Nutritional Therapy. Greatest thing in the world.
