The only reference I can find to them are two articles (including the one you're quoting). Are they UN? NATO? Do they have a web site? Do they even exist?

First off, Sellafield, in the UK has the largest stockpile of DU in the world.70 Tons of DU is stored in unsecure buildings and a major accident could write off the north of england. And even with no disaster, democracy there is seriously undermined because of the need for intense and active security-habeas corpus does not apply with Britains nuclear police.
There is no method for safe disposal of nuclear waste.
Half the Vets of the gulf war, where DU was used, are either dead or sick, their symptoms matching those of visitors to Hiroshima after the atom bomb.
Some of their children are born without arms but with swollen torsos and shriveled legs, just like that of many children in Iraq.
