Okay, what makes 40-50 Police Officers kill themselves every year?
Out of curiosity, and with all due respect, do you have any idea of what the job entails? We all see on the news about child abuse, murder etc.. Its
on tv.... Its sanitized for tv, reporting the basics and thats it.
Try working a child abuse call. Now, work that call 5-20 times in a year.
Try working a homicide / suicide, having to be the one to deliver the bad news in addition to trying to find out what happened and who is involved.
Try working a car accident where a family of 5 are all dead, body parts / children laying on the road or trapped in mangeled steel.
how about being called to a fire to investigate charred bodies, including those of children or elderly.
The stuff law enforcement deals with in a year is stuff people who arent in those profession will view in a lifetime.
Its not all Law and Order or CSI.
Couple all of that, in addition to stuff I wont mention or list, and add it to any personal issues going on (family issues, money, child issues,
family members dieing etc etcetc).
The job is more stressful than people think. Constantly seeing the same thing over and over and over takes it toll.
