Not all differences of opinion are racist, nor are they accusatory of racism....

Obama and the democrats want you afraid for him to lose the election. They want you to make the calculus that having him reelected is better than having massive urban unrest. They want you to think that the US reputation in the world will be that we are a racist country. They want to manipulate you since they can obviously not win the election on the merits of Obama's performance....

You're free to your own opinions but not to your own facts. It's the "opinions are people too" drivel that TPTB are counting on. Your opinion is not valid just because you said it.
And BTW, the 1st Amendment protects us from the government. Not from each other.
There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all... The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic... There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
Any man who carries a hyphen about with him carries a dagger that he is ready to plunge into the vitals of this Republic whenever he gets ready.

In defense of "100% Americanism", Henry Cabot Lodge (R) alongside Theodore Roosevelt (R), believed in what Lodge said about immigration and the races:
"Let every man honor and love the land of his birth and the race from which he springs and keep their memory green. It is a pious and honorable duty. But let us have done with British-Americans and Irish-Americans and German-Americans, and so on, and all be Americans...If a man is going to be an American at all let him be so without any qualifying adjectives; and if he is going to be something else, let him drop the word American from his personal description."
Also may I add that not once have I agreed with a person's entire post like I have yours. We share the exact, down to the last letter, idea on this country, culture, race, history, and all of that. Consider yourself friended.edit on 9/20/2011 by Misoir because: (no reason given)
