Hello my name is Opioid Freud :)

Hello everyone.

I came across this forum through godlikeproductions.com conspiracy forum. Personally I am not big into conspiracies (although I used to be) unless they can be backed by at least some tangible evidence. Anyways unlike godlikeproductions this forum seems a bit more organized and seems to lack the annoying overvolume of religious threads XD which is what prompted me to join.

A bit about myself, I am absolutely in love with anything to do with pharmacology, and biochemistry & hope to some day go back to school to acheive my dream of earning a phd in the field of pharmacology. I have been studying pharmacology, psychopharmacology & biochemistry for about 4 years now & would love to be able to help out in that regard wherever possible.

I also love all things philosophy & admire the works of sigmund freud & friedrich nietzsche.

Another big thing about me is staying informed with all things pertaining to current political, geopolitical, narcopolitical, economic & socioeconomic events; so I think this forum will be a good fit for me as it seems to be a wealth of information and like-minded people.


Anyways; look forward to getting to know some of you...peace & hair grease ;-)

Bring up any topic on pharmacology outside of pharmaceutical drugs and you can expect to have posts removed and to be banned very quickly. Only corporate drugs are allowed to be talked about on here, not anything that grows in the ground though. It's all about the ad revenue.

Welcome to ATS. You may have already discovered that there is little love lost between GLP and many ATS members - if not, I'm sure you'll be interested in the variety of opinions your soon to hear.

Thank you for sharing some information both about your own background and interests. I actually was trying to find someone with knowledge in a couple of the areas you mention for a thread I was considering awhile back - and I would not be surprised if I look you up on a similar topic in the future.

LOL I will keep that in mind; I didn't come here to talk specifically about any drugs, nor will I do so.

Primarily I like to talk about how the mind, and the emotions, sensations, impulses (..etc) that it controls work & through which neuro/biochemical pathways these behaviors are mediated and how the phenomena known as consciousness ties into that.

Although I do have what some would consider an overabundance of useless information relating to various chemical compounds (drugs as they are referred to); I wont bore you with them as it seems that drug talk is a touchy subject.

Primarily I came here to learn and share information relating to alternate news & conspiracy facts although the entire site here is interesting as hell.

Yes I noticed today that a lot of the threads posted on GLP seem to have an uncanny resemblance to those here; many of them are nearly identical. I'm guessing this is an information hub for many of GLP's top thread posters, which isn't surprising considering the wealth of information & diversity of topics contained on this site.

Anyways I will be glad to help anyone out wherever I can.

Hey does anyone know what the deal is when I try and change my personal photos so that I can upload a board avatar and everytime I click on my photos and albums it keeps telling me to log in, and then I log in and have to click the same thing again ad infintum?

Well, first & foremost, opioid rhymes with freud, and secondly, being that I am fascinated with pharmacology, opioids intrigue me in their ability to ease those in terrible physical pain and also those in phsychological pain; personally I have had an intimate relationship with them (though never addicted, thankfully -- bless self discipline) & it amazes me that they have been a largely ignored for the treatment of ailments other than phsyical pain.

The interesting thing about pharmacology, to me anyways, is that you can take a parent molecule, say thebaine (a non euphoric opiate found in opium poppies) and rearrange the molecular structure to create a completely new fully synthetic or semi-synthetic (known as opioids in relation to opium derived compounds) medicinal compounds that don't necessarily have to be intoxicating but can have great potential in the field of medicine.

So in short, i think the undeservedly stigmatized and demonized compounds known as opiates & opioids have been largely ignored since the very early 1900s and 1800s despite their promise in the field of pharmacology.

Also Freud devoted a lot of his time trying to cure opiate addicts with substitution therapy initially with coc aine which later paved the way with opioid substitution therapy (methadone, being a fully synthetic opioid as opposed to opiate)
