No amount of twisting numbers is going to make this into some sort of 'mark of the beast' thing, as you are clearly attempting to make it into.

If you really want to nitpick though, the distances would be different than in ancient times simply because of continental drift and major events such as earthquakes. Remember how the Japanese earthquake moved the whole country by a few metres?
