A view from the other side

In remarks to reporters over the past week, Hamad criticized the U.S. occupation of Iraq and blamed the devastation in his country on President Bush -- who is taking credit for Iraq's return to the Olympics in his re-election advertising.

Officials running Tuesday's post-match news conference sought to limit non-soccer questions, but Hamad did manage to appeal for the release of an Italian journalist held by kidnappers in Iraq. Unprompted, the coach then elaborated on his feelings toward Americans.

"We have nothing against the American people, even though our country is destroyed," he said. "We are sad, for sure, that some of our women and children were killed."

Interesting,

I find nothing wrong with these remarks against the President and its current agenda. The President is a man of very little courage and intelligence, who in utter disgust, has taken credit for something not worth giving. If anything, those soldiers giving thier lives in retribution should be given credit, not Bush.

This, Hamad, seems like a humble man, he is done the right thing and blamed the administration, and not the people of America. Only a truely wise mind would conjur such rationality.

This people is exercising the freedom of speech given to them by the present administration, yes he can voice what is going on in his country and it is truthful and candid, and he is right the American people is not to blame for the sins of bush administration.

Not body in US has the right to condemn him for speaking the truth.
