Hey all,

I wanna update my doco collection and was wondering if anyone could recommend some good docos surrounding NASA coverups, whistleblowers, etc. Anything similar to 'Secret Space'.
ATS search returned a huge amount of results, so I thought the best way was to just ask!
I'm also a reader, so books are also acceptable. Also feel free to add any Alien/UFO docos that you feel are worthy of checking out.

free documentaries

If you want to know more feel free to U2U me.

If you are fairly new to the field then Isaac Koi has put together a Free UFO Researcher Starter Pack. There are links to some free books that are really must reads if you want to know how this all started.

P.S. You will still get some idiots who deny there has been a cover up. Don't waste your time arguing with people who refuse to look at the facts.

UFO Hunters did a whole hour (40 minutes plus commercials
) on NASA:

UFO Hunters:The Nasa Files

But by far the best thing I've ever heard on the topic is the Paratopia interview of the NASA insider looking for any such evidence. The ATS thread on that is here but the real meat is the audio interview, I really enjoyed listening to it:

Thread:
Wes Owsley discusses NASA and UFOs

Link to interview (see #23 Wes Owsley):

hold on a minute. Reality check.

I disagree with Jim about a few things but can you honestly say that the "space UFO" documentaries are truly any good. At best they are well produced, unbalanced and sensationalist. At worst they only have comedy value. I guess you can use them to troll deniers but that is very naughty and I can't condone it.

Here is an example of the stupidity. There are some interesting anomalies in this LunaCognita video. But he has to ruin it by discrediting the whole enterprise with rubbish. He includes shots of material that are known to be debris (identified) and photographic glitches. The crowning glory of this stupidity is the inclusion at about 2mins20seconds of what is clearly a water droplet.

the op said they are updating their doco collection. not looking for irrefutable proof or flawlessly researched pinnacles of unassailable science.
and they asked for 'good ones', which does not necessarily mean anything more than something entertaining to watch.
i find it quite telling that the term 'space ufo's' only showed up with Jim's post.
some people have spent entirely too long ridiculing the views of others.
the negatives aren't good for you, man. seems they've already burned out your reading comprehension.

dude only wanted something to watch.

I thought the thread title was 'NASA UFOs' or something. You mean the subject includes NASA underwater UFOs and NASA frozen UFOs and NASA brain implant UFOs? Get serious -- 'NASA UFOs' and 'space UFOs' overlap a lot [if not totally -- there are cosmonaut UFO stories, to be sure].

You want something to watch, turn on CSPAN. You want something to avoid rotting your brain with distortions, deceptions, and disinformation, avoid the NASA UFO videos, all of them -- is my advice.

Hoagland is nonsense, as is most of the NASA is covering up aliens arguments.

Think about it. NASA has done probably more then anyone, put down more MONEY then anyone in attempts to find life in outerspace. So you would have me believe NASA is going to spend billions of dollars to do this, then succeed, and just hide it? Please. That's ridiculous.

As far as Hoagland is concerned, Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy has a pretty good debunking.

Not to mention the money issue: When ever the budget gets tight, NASA always gets a cut. James Webb almost got cut. If NASA were ever to find aliens, it would spark such an interest that NASA would never have to worry about finances again. Funding NASA would just be matter of fact.

and do you know what? it wouldn't have hurt you to say that to start with.
instead of empty posts reeking of childish spite.
OH I GET IT! you took up a whole bunch of space to say nothing at all! that is FUNNY!
if we were all five.
"or something"? yes, the word NASA was in the title, well done!
are we supposed to be impressed that you can pay that little attention yet still call foul on the lot?
i'll say it again; OP did not say they believe in all the crazy credulousness out there.
which, yes, i agree with you, there is a lot of.
nor did they say that want proof, or.... well look, you read my previous post [or at least a couple of words of], what more can i say?
all you've done is make yourself look like a jerk
and i don't care who or how well informed you are, that's just not cool.

They also asked for cover up docs and feel free to post any on aliens/UFOs. The OP also mentioned books. I posted a video or two on the UFO cover up as I though it might be informative along with a link to lots of information about these topic...

The point I was trying to make is that documentaries are supposed to present facts, inform AND be entertaining. I was ridiculing the poor quality and presentation of the data in these documentaries. When videos present footage of what are clearly not anomalies as "UFO" they do not inform they misinform and make a mockery of the whole subject. Surely a "good" documentary does not do that?

What point of view do you think was being ridiculed exactly?

The OP didn't just mention "space UFOs" but also other material which I responded to and you did not. Whose comprehension is in doubt here?

Perhaps in future you ought to read the OP and respond to it.

good point and well made, especially as the link you originally posted has so much material i won't be done going through it for months. surely though it is up to the viewer and their own discretion as to the merit of each documentary?
there are hundreds and hundreds of threads here, each picking apart and debunking various elements of probably almost all of these videos, why turn this into another one of those? for a start the thread would become impossibly huge. and further, with so many different sources to discuss it would surely devolve to mere slanging matches
and i mean it's not like Jim was providing any discussion or anything, his post was nothing more than a metaphoric middle finger.
when i was lurking before i signed up i read many many threads that did just that
they would cause me to despair
and i swore i would never take part in that.

so, i'm sorry. you do realise we essentially agree, right?
all i am trying to say is that a little more love and tolerance won't go astray. on the part of any of us.

Apology accepted.

The more time I spend on ATS the less tolerant I am inclined to be I'm not ashamed to say. The Some of the rubbish posted does several things that irritate me.

  1. Allows deniers to pretend all the evidence (by association) is total rubbish which is far from true.
  2. Makes people with pre-conceived notions that there is nothing to the topic leave with the sense that they were right.
  3. Misinforms people with a genuine interest but without the time, will and/or critical faculties to properly investigate for themselves.
  4. Plays into the hands of deliberate campaigns to keep the subject in a state of confusion or deliberately dis/misinform.

Opportunities to explain this can and will be taken by several members, including me. I hope this explains my position.
