yes yes yes! focus on someones grandfather but whatever you do never ever ever ever ever ever PAY ATTENTION TO THE REAL PROBLEMS OF THIS COUNTRY.

sorry...by all means keep bashing and dredging up things that are going to do nothing to solve the problems this country has and had before bush ever took office.

indy the problem is whatever problems there are there is little sense in pointing fingers regardless who created them as WE the people pay the ultimate price for them. that and there will be problem even if kerry is in office, do we get to bash him next? at what point do we stop playing the blame game and look for actual solutions?

sure bush has done more than his fair share to add to our grief but the way some people act, we lived in a fantasy world where our poo smelled like roses and everyone was fabulously rich and we all lived in mansions and after he took office we all became poor and our country went to hell. sorry but the coutnry was on that road before him...and its gonna continue that way as long as people continue to point fingers and do little else. its not his fault really, its not even the politicians fault, we put them there, ALL of them. so logic tells us that we put them there and they cause these problems for us then its only logical we blame who exactly??? i think you know the answer to this. i'll give you a hint, the answer is in your mirror.

This country started falling apart the day Reagan came up with this idea of trickle down economics. And it will continue to fall apart until people stop bitching and start doing something about it. 80% (or so) of this country is not being represented by its government. Thats not good.

But on the issue of Bush's grandfather... I mean who cares who is grandfather was. Wait... come to think of it. I think my grandfather was a Nazi. LOL. He was a field doctor during the 2nd world war for the German army.

it started before reagan. dig deeper. dig WAY deeper

and you're grandfather was a what for who's army? omg we must bash you relentlessly then!

at least you understand that him being with the german army has no bearing on you and who you are as a person. you shouldnt be persecuted and bashed for it anymore than bush should be. but you understand this better than most.

Prescott wasn't a nazi though. Being German during WWII would be an excuse for being a Nazi.

He was an American...TRAITOR that dealt with the enemy illegally for profit.

So the question is how far did the apple fall from the tree with Bush 41 and his Saudi Royal family dealings? What about Shrub?

Anyone seeking to defend the current Bush's here would have to defend the Saudi Royal family IMO as being pro-America and not our enemy.

But I'd just as soon redirect this conversation to the last dozen times it came up if anyone can help me find the links. I think the problem is we were talking about this in 2000, so it's not showing up for me.

sorry, dredging up history is only CONVENIENT when you use it for your own side. ouch.

and yeah, i think kerry is also one of the sorriest picks the dems could have went with. i'm voting libertarian.

by the way, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree- i'm sure most of y'all have heard of one of george w bush's failed companies- arbusto energy...

src: www.bushwatch.com...

"On September 24, President George W. Bush appeared at a press conference in the White House Rose Garden to announce a crackdown on the financial networks of terrorists and those who support them. U.S. banks that have assets of these groups or individuals must freeze their accounts, Bush declared. And U.S. citizens or businesses are prohibited from doing business with them.

"But the president, who is now enjoying an astounding 92 percent approval rating, hasnt always practiced what he is now preaching: Bushs own businesses were once tied to financial figures in Saudi Arabia who currently support bin Laden.

"In 1979, Bushs first business, Arbusto Energy, obtained financing from James Bath, a Houstonian and close family friend. One of many investors, Bath gave Bush $50,000 for a 5 percent stake in Arbusto. At the time, Bath was the sole U.S. business representative for Salem bin Laden, head of the wealthy Saudi Arabian family and a brother (one of 17) to Osama bin Laden. It has long been suspected, but never proven, that the Arbusto money came directly from Salem bin Laden. In a statement issued shortly after the September 11 attacks, the White House vehemently denied the connection, insisting that Bath invested his own money, not Salem bin Ladens, in Arbusto.

"In conflicting statements, Bush at first denied ever knowing Bath, then acknowledged his stake in Arbusto and that he was aware Bath represented Saudi interests. In fact, Bath has extensive ties, both to the bin Laden family and major players in the scandal-ridden Bank of Commerce and Credit International (BCCI) who have gone on to fund Osama bin Laden. BCCI defrauded depositors of $10 billion in the 80s in what has been called the largest bank fraud in world financial history by former Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau. During the 80s, BCCI also acted as a main conduit for laundering money intended for clandestine CIA activities, ranging from financial support to the Afghan mujahedin to paying intermediaries in the Iran-Contra affair.

"When Salem bin Laden died in 1988, powerful Saudi Arabian banker and BCCI principal Khalid bin Mahfouz inherited his interests in Houston. Bath ran a business for bin Mahfouz in Houston and joined a partnership with bin Mahfouz and Gaith Pharaon, BCCIs frontman in Houstons Main Bank.

"The Arbusto deal wasnt the last time Bush looked to highly questionable sources to invest in his oil dealings. After several incarnations, Arbusto emerged in 1986 as Harken Energy Corporation. When Harken ran into trouble a year later, Saudi Sheik Abdullah Taha Bakhsh purchased a 17.6 percent stake in the company. Bakhsh was a business partner with Pharaon in Saudi Arabia; his banker there just happened to be bin Mahfouz.

"Though Bush told the Wall Street Journal he had no idea BCCI was involved in Harkens financial dealings, the network of connections between Bush and BCCI is so extensive that the Journal concluded their investigation of the matter in 1991 by stating: The number of BCCI-connected people who had dealings with Harkenall since George W. Bush came on boardraises the question of whether they mask an effort to cozy up to a presidential son. Or even the president: Bath finally came under investigation by the FBI in 1992 for his Saudi business relationships, accused of funneling Saudi money through Houston in order to influence the foreign policies of the Reagan and first Bush administrations.

"Worst of all, bin Mahfouz allegedly has been financing the bin Laden terrorist networkmaking Bush a U.S. citizen who has done business with those who finance and support terrorists. According to USA Today, bin Mahfouz and other Saudis attempted to transfer $3 million to various bin Laden front operations in Saudi Arabia in 1999. ABC News reported the same year that Saudi officials stopped bin Mahfouz from contributing money directly to bin Laden. (Bin Mahfouzs sister is also a wife of Osama bin Laden, a fact that former CIA Director James Woolsey revealed in 1998 Senate testimony.)

"When President Bush announced he is hot on the trail of the money used over the years to finance terrorism, he must realize that trail ultimately leads not only to Saudi Arabia, but to some of the same financiers who originally helped propel him into the oil business and later the White House. The ties between bin Laden and the White House may be much closer than he is willing to acknowledge." --Wayne Madsen, 10/22/01

The whole Prescott Bush nazi thing was released in the National Archives last year...and not one person did a news story on it.

He was a banker for Adolf Hitler and the Thissen (sp?) family, making money illegaly off the war, kinda like whats happening today.

Prescotts companies were taken over by the American government because of his co-operation with the Third Reich. One of his companies operated mines in Poland using inmates of nearby concentration camps as forced labour.

George W Bush related or not, its something that deserves a little attention.

Why does it need a little attention? One dead guy did banking for another dead guy. And the people they worked with are all dead too. How does this effect the price of tea in China?

extensive article on the bush-neocon-nazi connection. whether or not you agree... very interesting reading.

does anyone actually think that everything happening in the world is just "luck" and that we are not influenced by those of absolute power and wealth. do you think that the most wealthy and powerful in this world would willingly give up control?

absolute power ALWAYS corrupts.

Back and forth bashing of both parties is unintelligent and childish. The issues here for each party is what is important.....IMHO bashing just makes people look like petty little kids....
"he did this", "well he did that"
for one...who cares if someone has a family member that was connected to the German party? I had a drug addiction as a teen...doesn't mean my brothers should hold their medical degrees because their sister had a problem...how silly!
