Barack Obama says Cuba's reforms not aggressive enough.

www.bbc.co.uk

Mr Obama, speaking to Spanish-language correspondents in Washington, said Cuba remained a "throwback" to the 1960s.

Cuba, under a US economic embargo for nearly five decades, has this year moved towards some economic opening.

Asked about Mexico's drugs conflict, Mr Obama said President Felipe Calderon was right to take on the cartels.

President Obama said the Cuban authorities had indicated they wanted to make changes to allow businesses to operate more freely....................

What does the Cuban embargo benefit us in either way besides this? I mean the Cuban embargo didn't do anything to quell Cuba's communist policies into a democracy. Cuba is doing well so they don't look like they give a crap. Why does the US the only country to embargo against Cuba and not others?

Just like the 1991 Gulf war, the economic embargo against Iraq didn't do anything to dislodge the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi Republican Guard out of Kuwait until U.S.-led coalition forces invaded Kuwait and southern parts of Iraq and ejected the Iraqi Army and the Republican guard out of Kuwait.

it say it had something to with Cuba about it's human rights policy. In fact the Cuban embargo has been still going on since the 1960s. Last year, Obama expanded the embargo.

No offense to the OP as this is a real "story," but who cares what Obama allegedly thinks? That's assuming he can think and isn't just another meat-puppet talking head. I'd say the same about any politician, 99.9% of them have pretty much shown what they are worth, which is less than nothing.

Cheers - Dave

I have a thought. If Cuba bothers Obama enough to make him believe he has any right to say something about how Fidel is running it, he can go down and be the Cuban President himself. I think America would be HAPPY to see Obama go run someone else's nation for awhile. We might just have some breathing room to repair some of the deep damage he's done here. At least in Cuba, President Obama would be limited in how much damage he could inflict upon the rest of the world.

Obama for President! ...Of Cuba!

Every time Obama tries to 'Think', people get attacked, imprisoned and/or killed. Both foreign and domestic.

Stop thinking Obama...you're not even very good at it.
