HD 85512 b

The newfound haul of alien planets includes 16 super-Earths, which are potentially rocky worlds that are more massive than our planet. One in particular - called HD 85512 b - has captured astronomers' attention because it orbits at the edge of its star's habitable zone, suggesting conditions could be ripe to support life.

Wouldn't be nice to leave Earth and start a new life on another habitable planet ?

This would be very interesting if Nasa or whoever gets there Google spaceship built first finds out that there is a possible life form there and animals with different appearance,dna and temperament !!!

Now all we need are earth ships, worm holes or FTL's and expansion can begin....hope we don't end up quarantined ala Sagan

Theoretically, it could take less. We're constantly discovering new things about the universe that we didn't know before. Our voyager satellites have essentially just left the solar system and has been discovering things like bubbles etc in out solar system space. Thinking imaginatively here, what if we are in a bubble so to say and that we have a narrow sighted (or is that farsighted) view of things where everything is perceived exceptionally far away. We can't prove whether that is truthful or not since we've never left our solar system but with that line of thought the travel time to could be SIGNIFICANTLY less allowing us to get from system to system in short amounts of time. Who knows maybe beings from other planets discovered this eons ago and really are visiting us.

Makes you kind of wonder with all the technology that Nasa has claimed through other country's of building Ufo type craft ,that maybe they already do have a ship to reach other planets in little time ...

No not google!!
IMO it would be more convenient to develop better communication and optical satellites before sending any craft out there. Once we know where to point them it would be a lot easier for study.
It's still to difficult for our modern equipment to cross the gap of time and space, so new methods and ways have to be found and discovered.
