So I attended church yesterday, and I have to vent about the church itself and a little situation that happened.

For one, during service I left early because the pastor was babbling on about giving everything to God. Giving your money to God, giving your house to God, giving your family, your entire family to.. And I was just sitting there facepalming saying to myself, what's God gonna use the money for? Tissue paper? What's God gonna use your house for? You want to know what your house is? Look around you. You are a soul, the entire WORLD is your house, and the body your soul is in, is also a house.
Then he talked about giving money to the church and having FAITH. Yet those people do not know, that the money just goes to the church. It does not go to God. "You" just gave up money you earned in your labor, to a God who could care LESS about money, as money is a false worship.

I walked out of service and went outside, decided to play a game with the youngsters in the youth ministry, while adults were all around. I kicked a ball over the fence, jumped over and got it and threw it back. These youngsters wanted to chase me. So the lady in charge said, "okay." and they started chasing me.
Next thing I know, this snotty scumbag walks over, and says, oh, you can't be out here with them, you need to go BACK INSIDE to the service.

I turned around slowly, glared at him with a dead stare as if to say, "go screw yourself" - walked over to him, still with a dead stare glaring straight through him, and I could just feel the negativity he had with him. So I extended my hand, got right in his face, and he shook it.

Then afterwards I licked my lips - my eyes moved around fast and I scratched my face like I was gonna kick his head off.

See I KNOW they are not "God's church", and that alone makes me a target to them because like that idiot who tried to tell me to go back inside, they know I can think FREELY.

Money is not important when it comes to the next world, nor is any artificial object or thing we chase around our whole lives trying to obtain. I assume that is what the pastor was trying to drive home. And he would be right. The only thing that is important is Christ, faith, serving others and spreading the gospel. With that said, I don’t believe God wants you to give everything and leave you and your family in despair.
Now in regards to the guy who came out to lecture you. Not sure what his deal is. If you don’t want to be in there, you don’t have to be. I for one don’t like being told what to do either.
My suggestion, find a new church. Sounds like you and them, don’t have a lot of chemistry. There are plenty of great churches, you just have to go out there and look and find one that fits you. Don’t give up. Fight the good fight.

Why would you attend a church that preaches things you don't believe in? I used to attend a Pentecostal Church and I know all about the judgement and attempts to control your behaivor during and after the services. But as soon as I was old enough, I stopped going.

I get really annoyed at money grabbing prechers, and will never set foot in a church again, unless for a funeral. Check out this lady, she's really good at peer pressuring everbody. Disgusting!!!!

Damn! You displayed such a mean, tough, and independent stance to that guy.
Go get 'em, tiger! (Well, maybe next time you will flip him the finger and smartly trot off for home to think about the primary reason for churches today.)

I think he was expecting me to bow my head and start crying and saying forgive me for sinning.

Trying to tell me to go back inside...best joke I've ever heard..

Could you elaborate on the above please? How does licking your lips, moving your eyes around and scratching your face look like you would be about to kick his head off? If someone did that to me I wouldn't think they were going to get violent, I would think you were about to have some sort of seizure or fit.

It's all a long con, man. Christianity and Catholicism are multi-billion dollar industries. The preachers rely on your money to live. The more they can wring out of you by manipulating your beliefs, the better off they will be.

When a religous millionaire dies and leaves their cash and estate to the church, that money sure as hell isn't going to feeding and sheltering the homeless. Otherwise, at this rate, there would be no starving or homeless people left.

When I was young, I had to go to church too. My mother and grandmother must have taken me to about a dozen different churches throughout my childhood. One thing that they all had in common was the way that the preacher would use select quotes and phrases from the bible and then spin it into something completely unrelated.

It would usually turn into a sermon about how you shouldn't smoke. Or drink. Or bang hookers. Or gamble. Or kick your dog. Or don't drink and drive. Or whatever. And it would always end the same way. With the preacher walking away with a bowl full of somebody elses hard earned money.
