Why 9/12 Is A More Important Day Than 9/11

Obviously 9/11 is a very important day.

It is the day upon which rogue elements comprised of members of the Bush administration, aided by allies and supporters both in the United States and abroad, undertook to create the illusion of a monstrous terrorist attack on the United States by Islamists allied with Osama bin Laden and a shadowy organization that US government spokespersons called Al Qaeda.

The illusion perpetrated by this rogue faction of powerful political, military and financial operatives did not include a provision for illusory casualties. The casualties were real, numbering close to three thousand people.

America, as a nation, remembers them on 9/11. Their relatives and personal friends remember them every single day. 9/11 is a very important memorial day for obvious reasons, but for reasons which are not so obvious 9/12 is an even more important day.

Unlike 9/11, 9/12 is a day that people will never memorialize.

9/12 is the day that the American press underwent a self-lobotomy and forgot about everything that it had reported on 9/11, that contradicted the fraudulent self serving interpretations of the events of that day by the monsters who carried out the attack.

9/12 is the day that the last of the checks that American people have against tyranny was removed. Without a free and honest press, American public opinion could no longer be informed by facts.

Henceforward, fantasies and fear mongering would be the formative principles guiding American public opinion.

Guided by fantasies and fear mongering, America would be led to murder hundreds of thousands, perhaps over a million innocent people overseas, in the greatest murder spree since the Pol Pot regime ravaged Cambodia.

America has now taken its rightful place of dishonour among the great perpetrator nations on Earth. As Nazi Germany was before it, as Stalinist Russia was, as Mao's China was, America is now a scourge of the earth, like those other hated nations. The magnitude of its crimes does not approach that of those other nations, debauched in blood. One hopes that it will never sink so low, but what check is there against that happening if the nation's press is no longer reporting facts that could put corrupt, cruel and bloodthirsty leaders in jail?

Remember 9/12/01. The day that Freedom of the Press died in America.

Well, I won't even begin to touch upon your bias, as it is already long established in your mind that the United States conspired to create the events of 9/11. Which unfortunately reflects your entire post as a whole, but Fine.

As for the Freedom of the Press. That had been gone long before 9/11. I would say that the JFK Assassination was the last instance of true unbiased press. Since then the bias, the division and the sheer stupidity of our news agencies has never ceased to amaze me.

Very VERY well put.

Not sure the media underwent a lobotomy more than they were TOLD what to say, TOLD how to react and TOLD what to show!

This PNAC-to-Patriot Act government took over the entire world on 9-11-01. Quite literally. All in the name of security, of course. For our own protection. To keep us safe from the 'terrorist'.

I can't begin to tell you how this has affected me. I am appalled at this government and ashamed to be an American. It has made me bitter. Mad. Non-trusting. Suspicious. Cynical and embarrassed. Not a good way to go through life,

So I tip my hat to you and thank you for saying what so many feel!

I agree with you in an academic sense. People have said that there has never been a truly free press, but press freedom seems to ebb and flow.

It is just that on 9/12, there was such a marked contrast from what had been reported only the previous day, on 9/11, which speaks to Human_Alien's point perhaps as well. I think freedom of the press died another of its many deaths on 9/12.

This is what they were reporting on 9/11:

The next day it was all forgotten and for practical purposes, never pursued in the mainstream press, in an honest way, again.

You are so right, and I actually have been thinking similar things. People say a lot of great things about heroism and honor and solidarity because of 9/11, but in reality, the aftermath has ripped us apart, turned our military into death squads, and dishonored us around the world. You are 100 percent correct and I just can't say anything more than that.

I'm pretty sure investigative journalism became an oxymoron before 9/11, but for sure it sealed any hope of its resuscitation. Clearly, most journalists are simply sheeple and bought into the fear and TERROR we're told we're facing.

I thought the Onion did a spoof on this at some point - with the word terror inserted in every headline - but, I can't find it now.

Since when has the press ever been solely about the facts? I mean sure, you might get the facts on the fire that burned down the house two streets over from you, or the fact that groceries are cheaper this week than last, but the press has always been owned and operated by people with opinion's and agenda's.The last unbiased news reported in this country was by your local town crier. All news is, and has been, slanted from the get go. Nobody has ever gotten the straight facts on any subject in the "News"paper, or on the "News" outlets on television. To believe that you have, is utterly ridiculous. How are you going to get unbiased news on a subject when the owner's, editor's, and reporters are ALL biased? These people are not only biased in their own opinion's, but in the circle of peers they associate with. They all have agenda's. For every piece of "news" you can show me, I can dig up the same event with a different opinion, a different slant. So, if you are interested in gleaning a kernel of truth out of any event, read every differing opinion, every slant on said event, then pick out what matches up with each article. What's left is the truth, and it's often VERY little.

Just my two cents.

I agree in some part to the OP but since and after that date there is a game you can play with your kids
if you have to watch your media coverage..
Tell them every time they here the word Terrorist change that word to sausage..
Surprisingly the news tends to make more sense that the actual news..
And your kids already like sausages do they not..

9/11 is arguably the single most important feast in the liturgical calendar of America’s cult of impotence. Maybe you feel like a real patriot on the surface, tossing off a couple of cheap, content-free platitudes. But deep down you should probably hate yourself. Apart from displaying a disgusting indifference to the literally hundreds of thousands of lives lost and ruined in 9/11’s aftermath, and utterly failing to explain the event itself in the context of American foreign policy, celebration of 9/11 reinforces a hide-bound mythology of powerlessness. It guarantees, in fact, that America’s situation will only become worse and worse in the years to come.

An excerpt from a fantastic analysis of the ritualistic mourning and re-hashing and the inevitable danger that comes with it found here:

I hear you and I want you and others who read this thread to know that just because I am a Canadian, living in the nation that never seems to hesitate anymore to shake its fist at countries that are thousands of miles away, there is not an ounce of smugness or assumed superiority or schadenfreudliche mockery in what I feel about the situation that Americans find themselves in today.

I am nauseated by the way that the press in this country has joined the American press and to a great extent the world press in reinforcing the "approved for publication" lie that is the official explanation for the events of 9/11.

It puts me in mind of my university days, in New Brunswick, Canada, which is much like New England in the states, with patches of Appalachia sewn into the quilt. I remember studying literature by Camus and Sartre and doing my best, like my pseudointellectual student friends, to ape the attitudes of the déraciné (the uprooted of postwar Europe), this in a very rooted, almost idyllic small town world.

Well I know what the déraciné feel like now. They feel like the emotionally disembowled.

I am a stranger in my own country.

That is what this ongoing pantomime and masque of lies and evil pretense is doing to me in Canada. I commiserate with my American friends.

I would say that anyone who believes the media, on 9/12, forgot everything they reported the day before...has got to have the worst case of goldfish memory in history. It was almost a solid WEEK of rehashing the events of that day. For crying out loud, on 9/11/2002, several media organizations reran their 2001 coverage following the timeline. Its only people looking back 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 , 10 years later that post things like "The media lobotomized itself" "No one knew WTC 7 fell" et cetera.....

Goldfish memory.

Two cents worth a million bucks in my opinion.. You have posted some very real and valid points about the media that has existed long long before 911.

Thank you for telling it like you see it.

I think the more important date to remember is 10/26/01, the day the Patriot Act was signed into law. After that, no one can honestly claim that the United States is a nation of freedom, liberty, and justice. We should all lower our flags to half mast on that day, out of respect for the death of the nation that once was.

I went on to CNN today (dont really get my news there, just feel like it's a good reflection of the # they spoon feed to americans), and what do you know, all mention of 9/11 gone! It's just one day afterward, and not a single story about 9/11, when yesterday, nearly every story on the front page was 9/11, even weeks, months before that there was stories about 9/11, and now they're not mentioning a single thing! What a %@!%ing joke! Goes to show how much we actually care.

I talked to my mother yesterday and she sadly said, "I'm going to go watch some 9/11 specials now..It's my way to respect the dead." What about the people still dying under the name of terrorism? What about the hundreds of thousand civilians dying in middle east countreis. Surely, they dont get a holiday? What about when we nuked the japanese, twice! Surely, they dont get a holiday! This just pisses me off to no extent, and the American institution is playing with peoples emotions. I know the president would say something like this: "How dare you disrespect those who gave their lives by questioning the fateful event of that day that took 3,000 american lives!" How dare you for not questioning! Sorry...just venting.

I dont need to watch TV to commemorate the dead.

People are not being killed willy nilly. The only people getting shot
are the ones shooting at troops. The only homes that are bombed are the
ones an RPG came out of. They are trying to rebuild a broke nation. It was
broke before America has to come in and take care of the taliban.
If America wanted to be cruel, they could of just nuked the whole place.
Not care about any of them. There not. It is so sad that you people only see the
world in this shadowy side. The taliban and alqeada had to be put on the run so
they do not kill more innocent people. They strap bombs to themselves and blow up
market places full of innocent people. The taliban was ruling afghanistan, they had to be eliminated.
You can not expect someone to just sit back and wait to be killed. You people would be complaining
that they did not do nothing if it was your MOTHER who had to jump from the WTC.
It paid off, them idiots should not of been hiding Bin Laden.
Osama Bin Laden has been brought to justice.. That is what had to be done...
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
They will be pulling troops out soon, they are building schools, roads, hospitals, HELPING THEM!
Get a grip.

They always say they're going to pull out the troops soon, but that's just politicians talking the talk. If they really were going to pull out soon, then why is it projected that we wont be done occupying these places till 10, 20 years later? Why dont we leave it up to their governments to take care of the terrorists? Why is it our job to police the world? Why should we have to waste all our money occupied somewhere else, killing women and children executioner style for what reason?

Osama bin laden dead? Do we really have any proof of that asides from "we threw him in the ocean"? Sorry, but for all i know he could have died 10 years ago. And let's say he is dead. Cool. Great job America, we got the bad guy. Now what? I seriously doubt we're going to be leaving any of these middle-east countries any time soon. You best be trollin.

Hail to the chief!!!

It's always nice when an ex-president joins a thread. I think you've summed things up quite nicely sir, and I might add that judging from this post, you never needed speechwriters. Your style comes through much clearer without input from somebody trying to gussy things up.

Unless this is Frank Calliendo. It could be him. Nice job Frank, if it's you.

Let me ask you this - you have four choices - USA, 2011, Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, Mao's China. Where would you want to live? Second question - if you saw soldiers coming over the hill what would you rather see - stars and stipes? swastika? or a little red star?

I would like to live in the USA 2011. Ya got me there, but I still think the points I am making are valid. I'm not trying to put America down. I am trying to get it to wake up before it destroys itself. But you are right. It is still way better than many other countries.

On this question, I don't think it would make much difference. Either your number comes up or it doesn't.
