I want to start of by telling everyone that this thread is my first ever.
Hope the mods can put this where it fits if I'm doing it wrong.
Back to the thread.
As we all know 9/11 is a very sensitive date for most of those
from the US. Now chileans share that same date, even the same day.
September 11th Tuesday. Where many went to work,
only to never come back.
I found a video that explains what happened september 11th 1973.
To anyone interesed I'll embed it. Because in this world we are all one.
So brothers & sisters, please take a minutes to check it out.
We will be thinking of you, will you be thinking of us?
A small heads up when watching the vid at the end: the narrator describes what they did to people, so if you're sensitive please know this.
Translations of the parts in spanish are at the bottom of the post.
Flags in the air, red white and blue, where our stoy begins, in every corner
Voices were raised like waves in an endless oecan
fists raised into the air from the mountaint to the sea.
Allende Allende el pueblo te defiende - Allende Allende the people are sticking up for you.
-Woman:
Because I'm chilean, I have to stick up for Allende's government because it is my government too,
the government of the people.

They've got the power, they could enslave us but they can't stop the social development.
Not with crime nor by force. The history is ours, the people create it.
Long live Chile, the people and the workers.

"You went to work a tuesday in september.
On the besieged streets of Santiago
Streets deaf to the shootings, Streets blind of the treason
indifferent to the death you went to work on tuesday, and you never came back.
I walk the streets I go from town to town, looking for, asking for you.
And in my hands a small picture of you, an old smile shining through your eyes
Where are you? Where are you?
On an open space, eyes rolled up your body is broken
your dreams were whole, you went to work a tuesday, and you never came back

Ofcourse, why should we all remember about some insignificant event in Chile on the same date back in 1973, when the US Government endorsed the
overthrow of a democratically elected socialist president in Chile, in the process killing many hundreds of innocent people? The US surely is
the biggest victim here than Chile on the same September 11th date?

Quite right sir and a good idea for your first thread.
9/11, the day democratically elected Allende was assassinated by Pinochet and a military dictatorship was established in Chile with the help of the
America CIA.
Many Chilean supporters of Allende disappeared that day and were tortured and killed.
The final death toll was in the 10's of thousands I believe.
