I thought about this all evening and this morning. I have to say that there is indeed a problem with over population in the world, but with the
warnings, there must be solutions offered. So here are my questions about options.
1: Which group of people are causing the over population?
2: If those groups are causing it, then should they be held accountable?
3: Should the world present them with this?
4: Would this lead to genocide?
5: Which group of people would get the honor of being allowed to live on?
6: Are we going to sanction groups of people for having children, or are we going to sanction them for resource consumption?
Is Prince Charles really talking about consumption, or his advocating the extinction of certain groups of people? When he begins to fear monger, then
he has to explain his position. If the earth cannot sustain the population, then certainly drastic measures should be taken. But to whom does the
honor go for wanton resource consumption without replenishment? People tend to fall back and blame the US for consumption, but we still have a very
good agricultural system. We give millions of tons of food aid to other countries just as most European nations do. I believe much of South America
also contributes.
But if we were to look at nations that are over populated, the two that get the highest honors are China and India. African nations are not so over
populated as they have famines and genocide and live without the ability to produce food resources. China has instituted the one child policy per
family and it led to human rights issues of killing girls. So sanctions do not work.
I say, to get his ideas to work, let's begin by growing crops in nations that do not have any means to do so. We are told that African nations do not
have good water, yet I think if they made large, green-friendly water plants that transformed sea water into drinking water, that may work. After all,
the oceans are rising. The shipping of that water should not cost much because they would not be shipping it far. The problem is to remove dictators
from power that prevent their people from having food and water.
I think then that with a lot of hard work and money from billionaires like him, perhaps they can grow trees in Africa and grow grass to make it work.
The only drawback is that if they did that, they would displace animals that are native to Africa. There are no easy solutions, for every pro there is
a con. But Africa has a large desert that perhaps could be tamed with work. We don't know because no one ever tried. And with all that sand, Africa
could have a large economy based on glass making, which we all know can be recycled, and they could ship sand for building materials. But the problems
from that are corporations that take over and people become slaves. I think Africans could start their own corporations making glass. They could get
protective status from the United Nations. I would go for that.
So in my view, I say work with Africa to tame the Sahara. No one knows it will work because no one ever tried.
