I personally find this information to be very interesting.
for me it only substantiates my opinion even further that there is still so much we do not truly know about our world,ourselves and where exactly we came from (I know this does not have anything to do with human origins)

That will only continue to increase as we intuitively invent a means of space travel other than what is presently known and being used.(if not already created unbeknownst to us)
the same goes for our ability to observe space via telescopes.

It seems we find out something new & wonderful every day.

Like all elements with atomic numbers larger than iron, gold is thought to have been formed from a supernova nucleosynthesis process.

All this stuff is only created in supernova's! That's pretty amazing.

same place our water came from asteroids and comets.

A very interesting find, yet we already knew that most of our metal deposits come from the asteroids that plummeted to earth whilst cooling, but as these metals run out, we're going to have to get more. Currently, there is plenty of asteroids to share out and mine, i mean look at what it's worth.

The ability to mine just a few of these asteroids would change humanity forever, and thus many are looking for solutions, as am I. It's a crazy world we live in, yet nothing compared to space.

from what I've read and understand, metals like gold are created when a star dies, and explodes itself into space... (that is a vastly simplified explanation tho.)

There is gold in every state in the US and every country of the world.
One cubic mile of seawater contains about 50 pounds of gold.
Its just that in many places its not concentrated enough to mine.

In Calif less then 1/10 of 1 percent that can be mined has been.

That leaves 99.9% of the gold that can be mined still in the ground for someone to find. If you can find a way to beat the tree huggers laws and regulations and mine it. good luck.

Gold is created by nuclear processes in the cores of very large stars. They need to be large to run the nuclear process far enough to generate such a heavy element.

When these stars run out of energy to continue the nuclear process, they rapidly collapse under gravity. If the star has sufficient mass, this collapse can generate enough compressional heat to fire yet another stage of nuclear process deep inside it which, in an instant, fires much of the collapsed matter back out into space - i.e: the star goes nova and blows off its outer layers.

These outer layers of Star stuff, sprayed out across space, form the matter (except for, perhaps Hydrogen, which is the lightest element in atomic mass) that all other non-stellar objects are made from.

As far as we know, these nuclear processes are the only ones that can transmute lighter elements into heavier ones.

The conclusion is that nearly every element on Earth was generated in a star some time in the past (not just Gold). The amount of Gold that we have found in the crust of the Earth (considering its high atomic mass) would tend to indicate that its production is fairly copious, which argues against the idea that ancient aliens had to come to Earth to get Gold. They could have found it in a lot of places.

Gold is universal, it is cherished and loved, it is precious and coveted. But worth more than gold is diamonds, something we know without question originates here on earth, coming from a comet or asteroid or begat from Earth itself, the rarity of the material determines it's worth, very simply.

Yes, I am aware of how gold is pretty much created via supernovae,thank you for that information and that reminds me of another article I was previously reading about slow ticking "time bombs" known as white dwarfs that could be spread throughout the solar system! Very interesting stuff indeed.

New research shows that some old stars might be held up by their rapid spins, and when they slow down, they explode as supernovae. Thousands of these "time bombs" could be scattered throughout our Galaxy.

It's not that gold is the rarest mineral (a meteorite is rarer). What makes it an expensive commodity (in my opinion is) the secret metaphysical and healing powers contained within.
