What do Homosexuals and the Lefthanded have in common?

got a question,i'm a leftie,but how come lefties have no problems using a right mouse?( desktop)
This has boggled my mind quite some time now.Would love a logical answer

I think that if people first misunderstood the thread it is culturally relevant too.
Why do we have binaries in language like a "left-hand/right-hand" occult path; or "dark-sided and light-sided"?
It seems the metaphors of the colonial era are still with us - and who is included/excluded.
Left/right
Black/white
Homo (the same)/hetero (the opposite) - quite complex in terms of gender relations.
evil/good
sickness/health

I am a lefty and damn proud of it too! Although I personally have never had anyone think/act differently towards me because of it. Honestly most people are surprised or think its cool. I never knew it was still considered a stigma in today's society, but then again not surprising either, since a lot of people seem to be intolerant of others for the most trivial things.

Times have changed! At least a bit...for lefties.
My dad was a lefty and he was forced in school to try and become "right" handed....
As far as the gay thing....
I have only known 2 lefties...both were closet homosexuals.
My dad, tho married...had quite the collection of gay porn, and would get a bit frisky with male friends when drunk!
My Ex-BIL, lefty and tho also married had several homosexual encounters/relations and tendencies...BIG family scandal when that hit the fan!

I personally believe that that homosexuals are more than 10% of the population. That seems low from what I have seen in reality. I beleve there are even more bisexuals. I might be gay myself but I don't purposely seek out other gays but I know quite a few myself. In my experience it seems there are a lot more who simply do not announce their sexuality. I would say it is more like 20% and bisexuals 40%;(at least with women); it is not really as rare as you think. Left handed people are less than 10% from what I have experienced.

Im 50, and a lefty. In my first year of primary school I was regularly hit on the knuckles with a wooden ruler for writing left handed. All that acheived was to make my handwriting virtually illegible because I was writing with my "wrong" hand.
Luckily for me, after I moved up a year my new teacher allowed me to write naturally. Its still a vivid memory for me though.

Erm, no they don't, as a right-handed gay man I can tell you that we do most significant things with the right hand, if we are right-handed.

That's where the skill of Muslim people amazes me, because they clean themselves in the toilet with a bottle of water and their left hand.
I also use water, but to learn that must probably be done from a young age.
Still today in most cultures, if you offer the left hand in greeting it can be read as strange to downright rude.
In cultures that eat with their hands, you could be offensive by eating with your left hand.

And then there's the whole rigmarole around setting the table with forks and knives in Western culture when the lefties are coming for dinner.

But if one thinks about this, it's a social norm that everybody is expected to adhere to in public.
It is never turned around for lefties.
You can't say in those cultures (or even our Western norm) in public: Hi, I'm left-handed, so I wipe myself with the right hand and therefore I'll shake your left hand (?).
So in cultures without sanitation there must be this constant paranoia - who's giving me the stinky hand today?
At least in public you can't break the social code.

The same is true of gender and sexuality.

Goodness, if someone insisted on breaking it the whole thing might collapse!

Please explain this:

I am right-handed, but I deal cards with my left hand.

My grand-daughter is right handed, but she uses her knife in the left.

We are obviously ambiguous as well as being ambiextrous!

So what else are we?

Well culture is full of contradictions, isn't it?
A lot of heterosexual men would still get queasy at two gay men kissing, but then they go to watch football and rugby.
Go figure.

To equate being gay is as normal as being left hand doesn't hold much water with me. If that is the case being a serial killer must also be normal. Most of them( about 95%) are left handed.

You don't need to convience me; your post is about correct, I know, I'm from a family of whom half of them are left handed. All incrediably creative and too bloody intelligent for their own good

Is that true? A lot of serial killers are also psychopath, I think.

I don't know many lefties. But I've known a gay.

I'm right-handed but still use my left hand if precision or strength/stamina isn't needed.

But... it's interesting to actually realize how often I use my left.

I feel like I just now realize my left hand has a purpose. I feel like I've been upgraded.
