Lower the retirement age to 59

It just occurred to me that some of the most valuable life skills, as well as work skills are being lost by not fully utilizing the generation ahead of us, and their many years of experience.

I believe this would be a huge job stimulus plan, and for the return, wouldn't be that costly.

Here goes...

Lower the retirement age, as an option of course,to 59.
Pay out half of monthly benefits and allow the other half to be earned by working in high schools across the country.

Classrooms would be inundated with valuable, knowledgable, mature responsible people. Ones who have the most experience in their given fields. Be it welding, plumbing, electrical, artist, musicians, bank teller, they all have a great wealth of knowledge to share with the youth of our country.

It would free up jobs and those in their 30's-40's could move up to take their places, thus opening up vast amounts of entry level jobs which they, the early retiree , are helping to train.

The circle of life...this is almost too easy. I think it would work.

I think minimal age for retirement should be 60 but soon it will be 70.

Those people working in high-schools you speak of are called teachers...

And the ones that are unfortunate to work in areas where the the economy is @ its worst,
are being laid off because of budget constraints...

don't get me wrong, I'm all about early retirement
but I think your plan needs... well a bit more thought

I certainly mean in addition to teachers. And the money saved at the federal and state level, usually given out as grants to proprietary schools would more than recoup the money to pay teacher as well as their new assistants...the retiree.

Average social security pay out per month...1770.00 roughly.
Half of that....900.00 roughly.

Unemployment cost , so far 319 billion....let's just for fun, say this program saves half of that...and cuts the unemployment rate to 5%.

There's another 160 billion...all for education of the new work force.

there are many more of the same type article dealing with different
locations throughout the country .....

so these early retiree's you wanna plug into schools to help teach
they gonna do it for free..? or for a piece of stale bread & a glass of water
