It is important to distinguish between devious false claims, intended to weaken the truth movement, and false claims which result from accidental errors. There can be errors of interpretation of evidence, calculation errors and misleading testimonies from witnesses who fail to correctly remember the event they observed and describe.

An example of an unfortunate calculation error is found in the work of Pilots for 9/11 Truth (PFT).

One of the reasons why PFT may be reluctant to utilize the newly decoded last frame of data in the FDR file is that the concept that the plane could not have hit the Pentagon, and therefore must have flown over, is supported by the Citizen Investigation Team (CIT). In this paper we examine the flyover theory presented by CIT and find it to be false.

...the accumulated evidence that a large commercial aircraft hit and damaged the Pentagon is now so substantial that we should plainly assert that impact did occur. The natural corollary to the proposition that impact occurred is that the claimed north path, and consequent flyover of the Pentagon, is false. The physical implausibility of the north path proposition will be demonstrated in this paper.

As the snippets above from the paper show, this paper goes into great detail about the alleged "flyover" that CIT likes to advertise without any evidence. This paper also discusses how PFT made erroneous calculations in the flight path and will not accept the current data that is available.

This paper should finally put to rest any and all doubt that there was no flyover, and that a plane did strike the Pentagon on 9/11 as the evidence suggests.

This paper sure did change my whole perspective, because paper has magical powers!

You know what will put all this speculation and conspiracy debating to bed? Releasing the 87+ surveillance videos from the Pentagon on 9/11.
Let us all see what really hit the Pentagon that is clearer than 5 frames of a white blur.

S&F Interesting thread. I concur, I didn’t by the paper either, it was an interesting read, however I found it very opinionated at best. The fact is the author refuses to write about is the small impact hole and the unbroken windows on each side of the entry hole and the unbroken window in the upper floors above the impact hole.

Only one engine was recovered and the lack of airplane debris in the impact entry hole. Earlier photos taken right after alleged plane strikes Pentagon show no wreckage, yet photos taken later on in same angles show airplane debris, none of it makes any sense.

I felt the author was being one sided with the eyewitness accounts and not showing witness who saw a plane coming in on a different approach.
I am not convince a plane hit the Pentagon the reason is the visual evidence doesn’t match the OS.

Pretty please

I just spent 9 mins watching those and not seeing any plane whatsoever. The 2nd one has cars you can see clearly but no plane?

There were still unbroken glass windows....

The hollow aluminum part punched several holes through the layers of walls....

People believe this stuff.

I also believed at one time the "tips" of the plane's wings punctured through steel encased in concrete in both towers. If I could throw an aluminum ball with a rock inside of it at the speed of sound, I doubt I'd puncture through concrete never mind with steel girders.

Funny how "truthers" Frank Legge and David Chandler seem to spend more time trying to refute claims from other truthers rather than the official story.

What would you suggest is a better idea for what hit it? With the plane theory, there were witnesses and many pictures of debris all over the field around the impact site.

To my knowledge, missiles give a pretty big shock wave when they hit, blowing out windows. It actually lends to the idea that Flight 93 that went down in a field may have had a bomb on it. The shock wave that the man 10 miles away described was strong enough to suggest that.

With the pentagon you do not have this. You have sightings of a plane, warnings of a low-flying plane in restricted airspace, and then you have the pentagon being hit. The impact most likely shredded up the plane on the inside for the most part, and the rest of the debris was blown out by the fuel explosion.

My opinions means very little, what evidence we have seen doesn’t match the OS. The fact is the FBI, and the FAA did not investigate any of the crash scenes, first time in aviation history four commercial air crafts go down and there is no investigation, I don’t care to hear all the excuses to why there was no investigation this is not how the FAA, or the FBI handles plane crashes they did not follow their usual protocols. Four commercial airliners go down in one day and they are not interested to be investigated, come on. It certainly appears the government is covering up something. Apparently the government has all the answers, yet the evidence is not there to back up their claims and there is no one alive from those cashes that can tell us otherwise, so we are to believe in the governments words or faith after they have been caught lying repeatedly and changing their OS about 911. Sorry I am not buying the OS of the Pentagon incident on government faith. I would like to see the serial numbers to the time change out parts and let’s see if they match the alleged aircraft.

757 hits the Pentagon…BOOOOOOM BAAAAM ZAAAP. Where is the rest of the plane? Were the seats? Where are the bodies? Does anyone even know who was on that “Plane”? Man this is the smoking gun of the 911 conspiracy, that and flight 93 that went down over farm land. As we draw closer to the anniversary all you will hear talk about is the towers.

I find it interesting that Frank Legge has been unable to find one aviation professional to endorse his claims and sign their name to any of the Legge papers on the Pentagon. While a plethora of aviation professionals have thoroughly discredited the claims made by Legge.
