"President Barack Obama will honor NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and the 11 other Chase drivers from last year in a White House ceremony on
Wednesday – but nearly half of the 2010 playoff contenders won't be there.
NASCAR said Thursday that five drivers – Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart – will not be attending the White
House visit due to "schedule conflicts."

This is how bad it is. 50% of the top 10 NASCAR drivers blow the President off on an invite to the White House. The entire business of our
politics has become so base and our political offices (the offices themselves) have lost such status that these fools would even consider not
attending an invitation to the White House. For what purpose? To make a political statement? Under what guise do these gents think that their
"political" statement has any merit what so ever.
Bad form on the part of the drivers. Poor taste and bad form. Also bad for the sport.
I believe this is a result of the over coverage by the media of the President's private life and President's being too familiar with the press. The
public wants and needs to know things about their leaders to humanize them, but the media has eroded the office of the President by treating them like
celebrities. Certainly the men who have held the office recently have loved that treatment and facilitated it, but it has eroded the respect of the
office.
One thing its not however is racist.
