Both Israel and the United States have hinted they might consider taking military action as a last resort to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Israel would not be able to halt Iran's reported quest for atomic weapons with a single strike, a senior Israeli defense official said on Sunday.

Israel and the West suspect Iran is trying to use its nuclear program to develop atomic weapons, a charge denied by Tehran which says it wants to generate electricity.
Both Israel and the United States have hinted they might consider taking military action as a last resort to stop Iran getting the bomb.

The defense official, who in line with Israeli army guidelines declined to be identified, mentioned Iran during a review of the security situation in the Middle East in a briefing to foreign reporters.

Even the former Mossad chief said months ago, that it would be crazy to attack Iran, and he is 100% right.

Neither the US nor the Zionist regime have any proof that Iran is developing a nuclear weapon. If they attack Iran they have to do it without UN approval and they risk getting China and Russia involved, just like they would in Syria. Iran would have any right to defend itself. Apart from that they just let IAEA inspectors back into the country.

I wonder how many air strikes it would take to eliminate the Israeli Nuclear arsenal? Nobody knows, because for some inexplicable talmudesque reason Israel isn't accountable to it's nuclear hyprocrisy like the rest of the planet.

Former general: Israel can't defeat Iran

Israeli officials have been repeatedly warning that Israel may end up attacking Iran, yet former National Security Council Chairman Giora Eiland says such strike would not eliminate Tehran's nuclear program.
Speaking at a conference of the Institute for National Security Studies at Tel Aviv University, Eiland says Israel cannot defeat Iran's regime via a military operation.

"To our regret, there is no Israeli military capability that would enable us to reach a situation whereby Iran's nuclear capabilities are destroyed without the possibility of recovery," he said. "The maximal achievement that Israel can accomplish is to disrupt and suspend Iran's nuclear program."

The former general emphasized that the primary risk in undertaking a military operation against Iran is its potential failure. "If you undertake a failed military operation, you pay three-fold: firstly, you didn't succeed in hitting what you wanted, secondly, you've hurt your deterrence capabilities, and thirdly, you're perceived as the aggressor," he said

Talk of war with Iran over its nuclear program has been around for ages now. Yet, nothing happened.
Reason. Israel knows that if either they or the US attacked Iran... tiny Israel would face the wrath of Iran. ...and obviously... the lebanese Hezbollah will also join the party.

Israel would like to manipulate the US to fight Iran for them, but they probably realize that the US is a little busy at the moment, and is simply not in a position to afford another large scale war. Israel will simply not be prepared to accept the ensuing losses, both civilian and military...at the hands of Iran.
