WTF??? Mosquitoes 'disappearing' in some parts of Africa!

I am sure it has something to do with genetically altered mosquitoes which has already been discussed on this thread. Here is another article concerning altered mosquitoes. www.abovetopsecret.com... I don't believe it was already added to the thread.

sorry apparently it didn't link. I will have to try again later. What is talked about was they had engineered the mosquitoes to not be able to eat blood therefore they died from no food.

It is also not the mosquitoes that are so dangerous, but the plasmodium parasite some carry inside them. By trying to control mosquitoes humans poison large areas by using insecticides like DDT (which is still legal for mosquito control in Africa) even though it has become largely ineffectual. Also some humans have a "disease", called Sickle cell anemia, that makes them mostly resistant against malary, but us humans, in our wisdom, deem sickle cell anemia a disease that must be cured. If us humans, in our wisdom knew in which malaria occurs, why do we live there? I guess it is our god-given right that we must fill any crook and cranny of the earth to life in, and destroy everything in the process to survive.

bats eat the adults and fish eat the larve i would assume other things eat them as well dont get me wrong im not a fan of the annoying buggers but things do eat them

Well, I'm thinking this may indirectly be a result of man's doing. Like how we hand out antibiotics like candy, then notice that "superbugs" are evolving. Maybe something similar is going on, and the smallest organisms are evolving much faster than larger species.

So I think that one way or another, our collective actions are forcing evolution of micro-organisms at an unprecedented rate. I think this is some sort of critter killing them.

Gave you a star, because it was funny, but in all actuality some human beings would survive a nuclear holocaust.

Most of the fallout would concentrate in the northern hemisphere, to my very limited knowledge.
