A few tools you may need and can be bought fairly cheap at either specialist shops or websites or even at local markets (ex-military stuff or hiking,
camping stalls)
A rucksack - make sure you test this a dozen times, check the pockets, the water proof cover, get to know the weight , capacity and storage slots. And
only carry what you NEED to carry. Mainly clothing, water, fuel, food, and basic tools and maybe a tent.
Tent - 1 or 2 man tent - all weather. There's always somewhere you can pitch a tent, even behind a hedge or wall.
A multi-tool AND a decent knife - For everything from opening tins of food, to gutting a fish, cutting fuel or building a shelter.
Bunjee cords, rope or even decent - water-proof string. This is good for trying stuff down, building traps, holding shelters together etc
Then everything else is down to you - money, fuel (a waterproof bag with torn cardboard and twigs and matches is better than nothing), spare matches,
lighter, dried food (soup, nuts, dried fruit) - make sure you can gain access to clean water everyday and carry a spare bottle.
Possible find somewhere safe to store your heavier equipment, so you can carry less when scouting for better places or water / food sources.
The rest is up to your imagination.
