Yes that is my great fear. I think it more likely we will see a CIA Heart Attack and not a shooting.

All I have to say is if he did win, if I were TPTB I would hope he stays very very healthy

I would not like to see the reaction of a VERY suspicious American population to his death. Ron Paul allegely has the most Donations from Active Duty Militar.

Well if the Media controlled the agenda they would be supporting Ron Paul. Remember that they are in the business to make money and they do that buy selling stories that people want to hear about. The more radical a President is the more crazy stuff he will do making for more interesting stories which means more sales for the Media.

They would rather have Ron Paul than a boring Rick Perry.

Ron Paul could win with write in votes.....in our past history....some men have won several primaries and (sometimes) even the Presidency.

In 1928 Herbert Hoover won the Republican MA presidential primary with write in votes.

In 1940 Franklin D. Roosevelt won in the New Jersey primary with write ins.

In 1960 John F. Kennedy won the democratic Pennsylvania with write in votes.

I disagree. I think the media is controlled by ideologues who are much more interested in shaping the future than they are making money. They already have all the money they need. Why do you need billions of dollars if you don't have anything to spend it on? Ambition. What do they really want? People buy the world's most powerful means of information dissemination for a reason. They want to control the information. Yes. Making money is part of it, I think (They do obviously need to keep the money flowing so they have funds for their projects). But a very small part.

Ideology. The realization of their dreams is worth more than all the money in the world to some people. I don't just assume a person is a capitalist simply because they are good at making money. It's a relatively obvious fact that some of the wealthiest and most successful people in the world hate capitalism.

The media has a huge influence on whom people vote for. Anyone saying otherwise is either ill-informed or willfully blind to that fact.

I can't believe what I just read. Do you seriously believe the media would make more money by showing more of a candidate who goes against the status quo? A man who wants corporations to have less power? These are the same corporations that pay for advertisements on theses media outlets.

Are you serious? You're not even trying anymore! First you say Romney and Perry are leading in the Rasmussen poll, which is obviously not the case. Math fail? Now you're saying that the media would be promoting Paul if they had an agenda? I know you haven't forgotten that the media is controlled.

Best part about seeing some of these polls is knowing that there are more and more people at least trying to support a guy that seems outside of the huge corruption machine.

I love the IDEA of Ron Paul and while I agree with many of his views, can't say I'm in love with all of them and some I just don't like at all. I think a lot of people are like that. Even with those disagreements, the good far outweighs the bad overall.

I just feel it won't matter much in the end. Let's say he's elected. Without support from either side, he won't be able to get much done will he? unless he uses the same tactics he says are illegal now such as Executive orders etc.

I think many of us are realizing we're only looking at the remnants of the ILLUSION of freedom and democracy. The mechanics behind this are overwhelming when you really see it.

All I can say is that all these revolutions you see happening worked because those people finally stopped talking and trying to reason and acted. Violence works. The governments use it on the people every day, it's nice to see it working for the people once in while.

Ron Paul may or may not win anything, but he's letting the people of this country witness how a corrupt system operates and he may end up being the poster boy for something even more important.

The topic you are all avoiding here is that Paul must first win the Primaries and he is still in single digits among Republican Primary voters.

Ignoring reality is lying to yourselves. It won't change the final outcome.

I may yet vote for Paul, but I chose to keep my eyes open and not to become a groupie. Look what that led to with Obama.

Not Ron Paul's fault however that he has fanatical supporters like Obama had, who think its a Football rivalry instead of an important responsibility. I won't hold it against him.

And this is the point that I'm always trying to get to when it is regarding Ron Paul.

Everybody kicks and screams that Ron Paul won't win but it is of utmost importance that he gets the necessary support to win these actual primaries and caucuses.

in a 2 choice options style poll, many people will just take the non-obama option

I know Obama hasn't done much but I honestly don't think McCain or anyone else would have done much better. Not his fault, 4 more years.
