I don't know if this has been posted or not. I was looking through some stuff and from a few weeks ago I posted a video on Google+. I think ATS would like it. It's all about America and our politics. Strong language.

Edit: This was months ago. My own memory is bad. I know I have a habit of sharing the things I find. So if I posted this, please tell me. lol

As we saw in this last election, there really is a choice. The American people in many places voted for TEA Party candidates. And we are getting what we deserve when we vote for people.

What Americans need to do is vote for Independents. People who are center politically and not skewed so far to one side they reach the realm of extremists.

See, when you vote out of anger, you get angry politicians. When you find a real independent candidate, that is the person that is going to make sane rational decisions for this country and that's what we need.

Your name scares me. What happens when it stops being relevant?

But anyways on topic, maybe our votes count. I don't buy the whole "It's all rigged" thing. Wishful thinking I suppose.

I don't think the "Tea Party" is the problem so much as the nuts who cling to its ideals. I like what the Tea Party stands for...not what they are.

It's a social experiment. I'm sure I'll have some fascinating conversations. Perhaps some posters won't be able to get past the username and react to me solely on that alone.

Anyway. I agree with you to a point. I don't like what some people who support the TEA Party do. What I really want in this country is a governing body elected entirely of independent candidates that have no ties to any political organization. The TEA Party was supposed to be that, however it was co opted by the GOP.

George Carlin wasn't usually so fired up but that video has most of the moments he was fired up about politics. I think it's a great video. While he usually was trying to save us by showing us the humor of our faults, it seemed like these were the times he stood up and defended us against those who would lull us to sleep, and quite ferociously he did. That part at the end was great where some sellout was trying to call him a conspiracy theorist, and then his ability as a comedian helped him to sell his point.

Always refreshing to see a Carlin video again...even if i've seen it countless times before.

Absolutely loved his take on things....very funny....but incredibly intelligent.

THis one is great as well and he is SO RIGHT:

George Carlin always cut to the chase with the facts. His "Comedy" was a dissertation in truth. He could slap out a diatribe of funny sounding scary facts, that if you play it back a time or two will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck, because you realize in many cases he was dead on.

He was never afraid to tackle, head on, any subject, person or holy grail in society.

Thanks for the reminder. BT

S&F. George Carlin is a genius, thank you for posting.
I don't want to be too negative but George Carlin is right, the politicians are just a dog and pony show put on by the real owners of this country to make us feel as if we have a choice.
I vote too, and I vote for independents. The more whacked out the better, I don't think they have a chance in hell, but it's my way of saying "up yours" to TPTB.
In reality the best independents have been able to do has been to split votes, ie, Ralph Nadar or Ross Perot, and I'm afraid that if an independent party ever found themselves in serious contention they would be infiltrated and usurped ala the Tea Party, or the Green Party in Europe.

Great video. This video definitely gives a more serious feel to George Carlin's message, S & F haven't seen this vid before though I am a fan of Carlin's work.
