based on various demographic, why and where will they head to??
I'm staying right where I am. We have very few to zero natural disasters and in case there is a polar change i'm located on one of the safest places
that there is.
i do not feel safe here in NYC.

East and West coasts, in general, big cities in particular. Most are located along a coastline, or accessible by ocean, sea, gulf, etc.
Inland, rural, productive land will see an influx, and micro-economies will spring up. Fiercely independent, and armed to the teeth.

The coastlines could be horrible places to live. For example, if the ice caps do totally melt NYC would be under 40ft of water. Just saying...

There is a thread on here somewhere where someone posted a link that shows a map where you can see what all the world would look like if the poles shifted. I would be ok where I am. I don't have to worry about raising sea levels either, even if the Mississippi river rose 1k feet.
I'm fortunate to be located on one of the few places on Earth that won't be affected by raising ocean levels if that does happen. I am also an hours drive from the Allegheny mountains which are part of Appalachia.

Pretty much everywhere in the northern hemisphere has the looming threat of nuclear reactors poisoning the environment to the point of uninhabitability if they were to face a natural disaster such as earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, flood, wild fire, or solar flare CME. There are no nuclear reactors on the planet that aren't susceptible to one or more of those natural disasters disrupting their ability to cool their reactors, and prevent them from turning potentially the entire planet into Chernobyl or Fukushima. The safest place to escape from that sort of thing would be Australia, but even then, if we saw massive amounts of radiation leak into the atmosphere, even Australia wouldn't be completely safe. South America also has only 2 plants, and they aren't on fault lines, or areas prone to tsunamis or hurricanes at least. In the United States, central Oregon is probably the safest place to live away from all natural disasters and nuclear fallout. The only thing you really have to be concerned about there are wild fires.
As far as where people will migrate to if/when the SHTF, I don't see there being any migration away from nuclear fallout. Look at Japan. Tokyo is already showing dangerous levels of radiation, and people are unable or unwilling to leave.

I would have to guess California and Missouri for the earthquake possiblities. There are so many large cities along the fault line in California, and
while there only may be Memphis and St. Louis close to or on the New Madrid fault, the make up the land itself is conducive to more widespread damage.
Kinda like how the D.C. quake was felt in parts of Ohio. BTW, if certain people are right and the 5.9 was a foreshock, then even people in, say, Erie
PA. might have to evacuate.

Mass Exodus won't work, no matter where you are. Better to hunker down and ride out a week or so.
It obviously did not work for New Orleans, it would be impossible from Manhattan, and it is a likely side effect of any urban area. Of course, the more freeways the better. Florida is used to mass exodus from every incoming Hurricane, and we have it down pretty well, so it might be less of an issue here. I would guess the Midwestern cities like Detroit, Kansas City, St. Louis, Dallas, etc, would have more outgoing roads in more directions so the impacts would be somewhat easier. By the same token, areas like Houston with an ocean on one side, and Denver with mountain roads would be much more congested.
My advice. Prepare now, stay prepared and vigilant, and whatever the crowd is doing, you should do the opposite!

If yellowstone blows its top I think we would all be doomed, the world over. It would take some time but the microsocpic ash would ultimately make its way into the southern hemisphere.
Yellowstone erupting is my biggest fear. That is some very serious stuff.

I don't think anyone is safe but I live in New Mexico. At least I can drink a beer while watching the end of the world.

Someone on this thread though did say something about underneath the Denver airport. I had forgotten all about that. Sounds like THAT might be safe.
I remember reading somewhere that Berea, KY is the safest place in the US to be when everything goes down. I can't remember exactly where I read it
so if someone else does it would nice to know. I think there may even be a thread about it. But, I agree that we're all in trouble if Yellowstone

living in central new england, i would say our most serious threat is nuclear radiation.
we could probably deal with anything else.
but if the nuclear plants go, i don't know where would be safe.
