Will we ever get to the point to where in my opinion we stop doing meaningless things?

We have so many people and all we do is try to get by. Now don't get me wrong, having a family, helping people, and just living your life and then passing on is all good and well. I for one believe in god, I believe that there is life out there besides ours, and I feel it's my choice to believe in those, and I know this may not even be the right forum but, if you feel and agree in what I say do you think we will ever get to that point? The point of no longer doing meaningless things?

I know we have a society and we need to have order, someone has to force the law, someone has to break it, someone has to make the food, someone has to do this and do that. But we have so many people including myself that have no idea what to do. I plan on going into law enforcement because it's always been a dream of mine. I want to help people and serve my community. But I always wish there was an opportunity for me to do something more, When will we as a people stop doing things that make no difference to who we are as a race and people? When will we stop fighting each other and realize that we are all on the same side. That if we put our numbers, resources, power, and intelligence, and will power together that we could do so much more. As a race. As human beings. When will we get tired of lies and not moving forward. When will we all say "woah, enough is enough, let's #ing do this and put our race first and go out and become smarter, healthier, more powerful as a race, and go explore and find answers to all the questions we have!" Where exactly do we come from? How long exactly have we been here? Are we really alone? Why can't we stop doing things that don't really matter in the long run and as a whole decide to put our foot down and MOVE FORWARD?

Imagine if we could all over the world feel the same way and decide and dedicate our lives to improving our lives and knowledge. I would much rather read on the news about planets, origins, pyramids, evolution, science, god, history, travel in the universe, then read about murders, rape, wars, violence. I wonder if we will ever get there. Surely if there is other life out there at some point do you think they got to that point? They got to the point where someone or a movement brought them all together and they decided to stop fighting and go seek knowledge and learn about what the universe really is? or does it just have to be a lucky people that somehow manage to survive just long enough and go on long enough without destroying their race to finally stumble upon this knowledge? Is it even possible that someone else out there believes this way? that I wish I could put my foot down, make people realize that so much of EVERYTHING we do is pointless, why not spend our time on learning, exploring, and finding out the larger things in the universe rather than fighting all the time. I know it's all based on my opinion but wouldn't it be amazing? if we all could work collectively on something so important? I hope, I pray, I wish I had a way.

I wonder if we as people will ever get to this point to where we all can work together, and go out in the universe and make a positive splash and learn about life, rather than waste our short time here. I wonder. I hope. I pray.
Cheers

Very hard to read your post and it would be easier if you spread it out into paragraphs for us.

Thanks

Edited for you, sorry about that. I wasn't sure where to break it up and when I was writing it because it was really just a rant that popped into my head. Hopefully someone will read it and agree lol

We will reach that point if we survive long enough, maybe in a few hundreds, thousands or even millions of years from now. We as humans have limitations that we currently cannot overcome like our greed, we all work to satisfy others greed and it is the reason why we have all this pointless non-contributing work. I can see an entire world united under communism, but I don't expect it to happen anytime soon or to even happen within the next few centuries. We simply aren't ready for that perfect utopia where everything happens for the benefit of the entire human race.

...i think what gets a lot of people bogged down is that they think too big... think baby steps and only in reference to what you can do personally... like making a difference in your community via volunteer work...

Yes it's like almost every single job that most average people are a part of are all based on customer service or greed of people. I was thinking if we ever get to that point it will be us just outlasting our own greed and killing of ourselves to just eventually stumble upon it. Or there would have to be some sort of movement of epic proportions that right now is unheard of.

I was watching a documentary about how we created modern day dogs a while ago, centuries upon centuries ago the human race bred wolves by keeping the ones with more favorable traits and getting rid of the agressive ones with unfavorable traits.

I believe our future is in eugenics, humans with favorable traits get to pass down their genes to the next generations while humans with unfavorable traits simply don't get to. No uprising and no apocalypse, I think we can reach our utopian goals if we just controlled our breeding patterns. We don't want to end up like that movie

We will be able to reach that state when we will realise that the current ways of living are wrong on so many ways that we will hit our heads against a wall thinking how stupid we were to live like this.

And at the guy above me, with the eugenics, yeah .... you are a genious ... that is so risky and can easily make us extinct ...

I understand where you are coming from completely with this.
It is a great comparison except for me there is one core problem / question which is:

With the case of the dogs, there were humans watching over and deciding what was kept and chucked with best / most favorable interests in mind.

If we were to be the wolves as such, who would be our humans and who would regulate our breeding / determine which traits are desirable and act upon it?

It would be lovely for bad humans to degenerate and disappear and entirely plausible if we could all agree on WHICH EXACT traits are desirable and which are not, but unfortunately we are not yet at a stage of agreement, and so those who might be unfavorable to us cling to eachother and reproduce as they are in agreement.
