Wait till an alien comes to slap them in their face and stick it's tongue out at them. They'll still shrug it off.

If it had been a supernova then it's position in the sky would have changed as the Earth rotated, like stars do at night anyway. Unless it was in the vicinity of the North star or something though I guess, on the axis...
Can someone with a bigger brain confirm what I said?

Aviation and weather experts are baffled by a mysterious object spotted in the skies over Minnesota.
The large, shiny, white object was spotted by many people who contacted 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Thursday. It appeared to be a balloon of some kind.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Weather Service could not confirm exactly what the object was.
Weather service meteorologists say it was not one of their balloons.
