I don't doubt that we might find advanced "civilisations" in the even more distant past than we have so far. In that sense you can say the text books might be wrong. Unfortunately for the premise of you OP, humans must have moved from nomadic to permanent settlements at some point...

The only alternative would be that you think there really is strong evidence that a more advanced species really did civilise humanity like certain myths seem to be saying. If you have some evidence then don't hold back - sharing is what ATS is all about (for most members).

I don't have evidence per se, but things that just make sense to me. I think the show Ancient Aliens really lays it down well, well at least the first two season, not really warming up to this season right now. But the way they analyze things really makes sense to me. They have such an open mind, that it tickles 'real' scientists whenever they hear their theories.

Zecharia Stitchin is also a big inspiration for a lot of my beliefs and posts on here. His whole series is great and I use some of that to back up the way I think the Earth was set up. I am slowly posting about certain topics that i have written about that is in itself becoming a book on its own. 155 pgs so far and counting.

If you are planning on publishing anything, be a little bit careful what you post. Take a look at your terms and conditions. Sometimes I get a little frustrated when I have information but have to hold back in case I submit for publication. If it is completely original work there can be implications.

Most of my thoughts and ideas are quite scattered and I need to seriously sit down and think about how to transform that into an actual readable respected pseudo-scientific book, if i want to take it that far. I am not sure. But keep checking for my name I will be posting more topics on this and others on this website.

I need to outline the timeline about my whole theory about how the world got started. Then I'll be able to organize things a bit better. Right now they're just 155 pgs of notes and questions.

.....

I dislike exchanging ideas and people eliminate all other forms of speech, and everything has to be literal.

what they generally lacked was the power to easily destroy nature-but they sure tried!

They did not lack the power, that is evident if you dig a bit. I would say they lacked the capacity. We have the power to alter the course of the universe now. We parade around like we are so great but the planet is on life support. I am not convinced.

I don't mean any disrespect but these are poor examples. It would be like saying, because ancient man lived in harmony they shouldn't have to defend or kill at all. I would like know what would you do in the presence of a wild animal. We should also reflect on nature, animals can wage war, deplete crops, and other sorts of things and its completely "natural". Lets not allow the misguided mind to convince us we are separate from nature. It doesn't matter what belief system you subscribe to, if any at all.

Most ancient cultures had a good sense of reciprocity, and their morals and standards exceed ours today. They did not have jails!!! Prisoners of war even were given freedom and a chance to thrive after their service.
We can go to the moon, build useless buildings in Vegas and other places, but we have no Eco-stations. No one is even interested in moving in the right direction.

Not really, you may find that applies more to nomadic and smaller tribes - but even that is a reflection of the 'Noble savage' concept.

I can't believe Darwinism still has an echo. Faint sounds fade a little faster than others one would think.

Your quote is true if adhere to the concept and the belief, the further you go back the more nomadic we were. One can clearly see the opposite.

There is evidence of these 'smaller tribes' exchanging ideas, and even forming republics and even states.

oh and I've taught 'history' in three different countries - guess what, it was different in each one.

That is the problem, the history was different in each one put there comes to a point where they are NOT. There is only one truth. Your mean for trying to sic byrd on me. Make sure you inform I deal with facts not theories.

**12,000 years is the oldest civilizations.....You made my day with that. that is the greatest joke of the day

What if something took place that created conditions which forced humanity into a nomadic state?????
The evidence would be, remnants of technology and an understanding of the previous time. How do nomadic tribes know which rocks contain Iron ore, they created pits to increase the heat and the temperature, as if they knew what temperature to get these specific element to melt. I believe we are recovering from something, it could be magnetic which is why we have this anmesia.
In 2012 a rare conjunction can only be seen on a very tiny island in the pacific and this is conveyed in the complex calendarcomputer. How could we know this a why??? How did the Incans even know the island was there for that matter???
The ancients pre-nomadic people had something going on.....There is no evidence of soot or the use of flame in the egyptian temples. Yet we have a glyph of a lightbulb, that was tested and it works, yet we are still confused.
I just wanted share my humble opinion. I can think of about five places where we can find unnamed civilization.

I found alot of things in this video to be very interesting.
