How radical is Rep. Michele Bachmann? The Minnesota Republican claimed Thursday that she went to work for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), after graduating with a degree in tax law, because it was part of a secret plan to take them down.
“I went to work in that system because the first rule of war is ‘know your enemy,’” she said Thursday in South Carolina. “So I went to the inside to learn how they work because I wanted to beat them.”
Bachmann has taken some heat in recent days from supporters of Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX), who’ve criticized her for being a tax collection attorney for the IRS before she came to politics.
There doesn’t seem to be any evidence that her latest excuse is true, but she has said repeatedly that her experience in the IRS helped form her views favoring a simplification of the tax code.

That this woman is even a serious contender for the nomination baffles my mind. I know the Tea Party has thrown out a lot of bat# crazy people into our national politics but she really takes the cake. What really scares me most though is that if she never ran for the nomination we would not have known exactly how crazy she is. Imagine how some of the people, on both sides of the aisle, truly are in our government but we just do not even know it.
For me the only real adults in the room during that debate were Jon Huntsman, Mitt Romney, and Ron Paul, the rest seemed a little out there. Michele Bachmann is so crazy that I would actually prefer they take her out of the race and put Palin back in, she would be saner than her.
My question is, how did we allow ourselves to sink so low that someone like Bachmann would not only be taken seriously and elected into our government but is allowed to walk the streets without a psychological evaluation.

Makes perfect sense.
I've heard of plenty of former IRS employees that go on to become tax attorneys and end up facing the IRS in court. The experience of being on the inside, they say, helps them.
No big deal.
