Could Crashed UFOs Be Probes?

I'm curious to know if this has crossed anyone else's mind. I was reading a book on UFO crash/retrieval incidents (not Stringfield, although he's cited a lot), and the idea came to me that some of these things could be equivalent to the probes we launch by the dozen at Mars and Venus. We toss unmanned orbiters and landers at other planets like million-dollar candy, so why would extraterrestrials not do the same? Spot a radio signal coming from some cosmic backwater, and toss a probe at it to see what's going on.

The thought has crossed my mind and I think it's likely. Kind of funny to think that people on other planets may be freaking out because they've just find out, via their probes that there's life on Earth, hehe. Or maybe I'm just easily amused.

Well first I'd want to see these crashed UFOs -But yes, I have thought of this before as well. We put rovers out at the extent of our reach, and our reach will continue to extend... And we will have rovers and probes experience malfunctions, so sure, "others" could be doing the same here and on other nearby rocks.

I've thought it could but more like probes that keep an eye on what we are doing while "they" are away. Not so much as taking samples but more like possibly reporting what we are up to in the meantime.

People have suggested in the past that UFO's are robotic craft sent to probe mankind and make contact.

Problem with this theory is that it does not account for all of the so-called alien or humanoid sightings that go hand in hand with abductions and many UFO sightings.

While some speculate the these craft are robotic probes, they think this is a nice work-around for the problem that no science has ever proved the existance of aliens and that science shows that living organisms of the kind described could even survive space travel or the physics of the craft seen in the skys.

In addition robotic spacecraft suffer from the same problems that any craft traveling through space would meaning that it cannot be done due to the physics involved and the ability for such a craft to maintain itself remotely in full functional order that it could visit our planet after the amount of time and travel necessary to get here.

Its a nice little theory but it never pans out in the end when you apply real science to the question.

I think some are, yes. That would explain our technology explosion.
