Hi there ATS

Just over a month ago I was lucky enough to hit the states with a mate for a couple of weeks on a couple of big BMW 1300 r's.We arrived in LA and went east past Vegas,Hoover Dam,Grand Canyon, and countless cities in blistering heats, strong gusty wind and fires till we went north to Colorado and soaked in the amazing scenery before heading back west with a shattering trip across death valley.

Have to say everyone we met was very polite and friendly, america is an awesome sight to see

Anyway,as we were there we thought we might as well get as close to Area 51 as we could on fine german engineering.Finding Alomo to be a little smaller than we expected we booked into a cowboy ranch style hotel for the night(no brokeback mountain involved!)Previous to that we stopped in at the Alien Inn in Rachel for a pit stop and got a photocopy of 2 routes up to the base

We drove up the nearest one to Rachel straight away seeing as we would pass it on way to the next town.Very close only about a mile or so away from them and after a few miles of 2 lane gravel track we could go no further as the security gate covered the road and buildings with blackened windows were behind and CCTV tracked us

Looking at the photocopied map,we planned to do the longer road that goes closer to Area 51 later on that night under the cover of darkness, hoping we could see anything better

So later on that night we fired up the beasts and rode towards the 2nd longer road towards the base.Within a short time of riding extraterrestrial highway(avoiding wild life that wanted to run between our bikes!)we noticed a bright object at cloud level moving very slowly.Stopped the bikes and my mate filmed it on his iphone, but the recording picked up nothing. Now if any of you have been out there you will know how silent it is,no cars or people-this craft didnt make any sound and had no navigation lights and was going very slow,on what looked like an arching flight path towards vegas direction.
It might very well be a USAF drone,it certianly wasnt a chopper as we saw them later on closer to Area 51 and they had lights, noise and looked a lot smaller!

After having a smoke and watching this object move away we set off for the long twin track gravel road that would lead us as close as we could without breaking any laws! After some time we reached our destination and upon getting off the bikes a welcome humvee turned his lights on illuminating us,we thanked him by waving as it made rolling tobacco a lot easier rather than thumbling around in the dark.

The strange thing with this road compared to the one closer to Rachel,is the fact it has NO security gate covering the road!Sure the wire fence and sign posts were still there, but if we wanted to(and we are not foolish!)we could have easily driven across(apart from humvee security)

So why does this road have no gate blocking it?Is that road used by haulage companies on contract with the base to transport heavy loads to and fro and they want to keep the trucks rolling rather than stop to open the gate

We both had a natter about the security on both roads leading up to the fence, and found it strange one had gate, buildings and CCTV and the other just had a humvee off road

If any of you have been there on this road and know why there is no gate there, then let me know

On a side note we talked to some people from Alamo(or near by) and were told about these strange craft sighted by some locals and one woman who ran a motorcycle supply shop even dragged out a photo a friend of hers took of a blue orb coming out of some mist near there

Glad you enjoyed your trip. Now you know from experience that we're not all arrogant douche bags.

I'd say there's no gate there because it's not needed. No-one's going to be sneaking up without being seen, as they have plenty of other security measures in place, what with guards, sensors, and who knows what else.

Nice buddy!

I've always wanted to do something similar to this, though on some KTM 250's, so we could go completely off-road and past the "gate" without being accused of crossing the tape boundaries. Apparently they are rather inconsistent in places so they rely on the ground sensors for these areas. Still, there would be an un-pleasant greeting on the other side for us without a doubt!

Like others mentioned, there is literally no need for a gate down that road. Anyone stupid enough to cross the obvious line would be dealt with miles before reaching the access gate.

Rather jealous of your adventure!!

The "gates" are all over. Motion sensors, electric and magnetic, infrared, heat and a few we dont know about. Drones too are as small as a bumblebee with cameras. They knew you were there, what you were wearing, saying and doing the whole time. Believe it.

cheers mates

.

I agree that it might not need a gate, but then why does the other have gate, buildings and cctv?

Must have an 8 mile track to reach that humvee,I know they could hear any engine coming towards them from miles away and see the plumes of dust too from where they were sitting

Im sure we saw two Humvees out there, one a fair distance away protecting this area

When I google mapped Rachel I could track this same road all the way into the heart of groom lake

Go for the trip states side, wide open roads and a nippy bike = lots of fun!

If you do manage to get past the fence good luck avoiding the choppers! They were constantly in the distance left and right of us across the tops of the mountain range. Its a shame we cant get any closer there now like they used to be able too before the base purchased more land.

Also so silent and dark out there at night(apart from v8's and chopper engines!)You realy feel like your alone with nature. That brings me to another aspect, cows wandering down the road late at night, giant rabbits/hares sprinting across the tarmac and massive birds getting startled by the bikes headlights at night just flying up from the road at head height-and what I hope was a massive deer running between me and the bike I was chasing that nearly wiped me out-I say I hope because I only breifly saw it and it was BIG(I was on a big high road trail bike like my mate and it obscured his bike from my vision but i could still see his shoulders when it ran between us)and the bikes lights made it white as a ghost-looked a lot like that clip online of a deer or a big dog running across the motorway. For a split second I thought I would hit it

That(apart from city riding)was the only night time riding we did,and im glad we didnt do more

So you didn't follow the "bright object at cloud level" and the IPhone didn't manage to get an image of the "bright object at cloud level"?

You'd rather go look at an imaginary line in the desert?

I think a lot of people see imaginary things in the desert.

No the Iphone 4 video didnt show anything,I asked to look at it and was told its pointless as nothing showed up?I will ask my mate to record that vid he took and see if by adjusting the spectrum of light this object will show up.I didnt even attempt to get my iphone out as its older than his and the camera is so bad at night its pointless using it and could see him filming it so thought he had it covered

I did however turn my bike round in the direction of this object and flash high beams on and off at it to see if i could get its attention to the shock of my mate who told me not to do that again incase they saw us!lol

As for following it,little bit tricky at night when the only road is heading a direction away from it.I guess we could have risked it driving over hidden rough terrain on hire bikes but the mountain peaks about 15 miles away would have stopped us dead in our tracks

We went as close as we could by law to Area 51,at night purely for the reason we might see something being flown and see the ambient light of the hidden and well shielded base behind the shield of rocky mountain peaks

It certainly wasnt a trip there to see a warning sign or a line in the sand,in fact I never even got my iphone out to take photos during the daylight trip up the other track. We were in the area so had to drop by and give it an evening out of our lifes.

I have some daylight photos of the long track leading up there I took the next day,was ment to slow down and take a snap of the mail box but we blasted past in the morning to reach the next destination

Maybe to lure people to the "unguarded" gate, haha.

Point is, as soon as you walk past that gate, they can probably see and hear everything you do. The security is in the SIZE of the area. They dont need to send guards... Unless you make them. If you think you stand a chance against a humvee, try hiding from an Apache with IR tracker

Sidenote: Please dont use the iPhone 4 to film anything. Its a phone, the camera is a pretty meh. Even a budget camera is far, far better!

Why do you sound so butthurt? Envy much? The guy comes here and tells us his story, and all you can do is come here to bash him. Gotta be pretty retarded to go into a thread for the sole purpose of bashing the OP..

Nice story buddy! Shame you didn't meet Paul out there... or did you?

Edwards security is not to be trifled with, at best you'll get a friendly "move along sir" but at worst... who knows?

Op, I hate to be a downer, but your account is the usual tour of Area 51 that people report.

You say you saw something, but the video didn't show anything.

All I got from your thread was that you road around on some really expensive bikes, made sure to check out the Area 51 tourist traps, and didn't participate in any homosexual activities at the hotel.

I'm not hatin' on you, but this could've been any American's account. You're from the UK! You could've at least have played dumb with the guards.

Maybe you should take these two old ladies with you next time.

www.youtube.com...
(Sorry. Need to practice imbedding)
- Be sure to watch the whole video. It shows the two old women blowing past the guard station in their car.
They got moxy! Maybe breaching Area 51 was on their bucket list?

Here's the link discussing that the ladies get did arrested.

You should drive full speed straight for the base then you will have a story to tell!!

If you live.

You would be surprised at how lax the security is on some US military installations. Some of them don't even have MPs anymore and just have contracted security guards. When I visited the US Navy Museum at the Washington DC Navy Yard in 2008 on the way in we were checked by Department of the Navy contracted security guards and on the way out we were checked by US Marine Corps Military Police. Both posts only had a single guy with a pistol. Bear in mind that this is an active duty US Navy/Marine Corps base home to the US Navy's main HQ and several other important commands like Naval Intelligence, NCIS, etc. I was actually surprised at how lax the security seemed.

Well no one cares about the Navy. All they do is give real soldiers a ride to the war in their ships.

Thanks for the replies on this thread

Was hoping a local expert from that area would chime in and explain the track.I guess it must have been used by lorries a long time ago when they were expanding the base and evacuating waste.

Im pretty sure I head of some law suits being issued by former workers with health issues who worked there with toxic materials/waste during the Clinton era.

anyway cheers all

||| Area 51 Hazardous Waste Lawsuit

Federal agents are investigating allegations that hazardous wastes burned in open pits at a secret military base in Southern Nevada, lending credence to former workers' claims that they became ill from inhaling toxic smoke.

||| Area 51 Hackers Dig Up Trouble

They discovered that each device was coded with three-digit identifier that could be read off an internal dial, allowing Arnu to make a list that correlated each unit's I.D. number with its GPS coordinates, creating a virtual map of a portion of the surveillance network surrounding the Groom Lake facility. Some of the sensors were miles away from the base.

That's the lawsuit I believe you mentioned, i also added another article I just found which i thought was a good little read!

Blimey thats a load of road sensors!must have loads of those around well off the beaten path to catch out sneaky hikers

Thanks for the toxic link

Next place I would love to see (even if only on google map) is the pacific island with a no fly zone and navy warships stopping any vessel from getting close.A naval source told Goode that was the real Area 51 and aliens were working hand in hand with us there-if that contact was telling the truth at all!

Was also lucky to see Santa Fe Baldy mountain on our trip, not up close but another pitstop where we could see it in the distance and wonder if there realy was an alien base in there somewhere with martians living there in isolaton from fleeing their dying planet many thousands of years ago

Came close to Dulce too,but wanted to crack on to next destination and unwind
