The problem here is that WE are the only ones who read this site. People who would be on this thread are people who know about and are pissed about the Ron Paul cover up. People who are oblivious to it probly don't visit ATS at all let alone this specific thread. You have to make the same grass roots effort that Ron Paul seems to encourage. That means going to every billboard in town and posting fliers that say things like

"Ron Paul is being systematically blacked out from main stream media because our government doesn't want YOU to hear what he has to say. For more info go to www.abovetopsecret.com and search Ron Paul."

Does that make sense? People who don't know there is a problem wont go looking for the solution. First you have to find them and show them the problem, then tell them where to find the solution. I am not looking to argue about this with anyone, but if you have any better ideas please let me know.

I'm sure that a lot of you felt the same about Obama. He also made (empty) promises. Every one thought he was the man and that he was gonna bring CHANGE. Remember how every one cried and chanted "Yes we can" like drones. Don't be surprised if Ron does not turn out to be what he has been parading as.
Same person. different mask.

so we can even the playing field a bit against MSM's campaign to ignore him.

This is ridiculous stuff I am seeing. I shut my T.V. service off about twelve years ago in order to be better informed. What does that say?

After watching Stewart and Colbert tonight I think this is a very good idea. S+F for a good thread.

Actually, no. I was for Cynthia McKinney. A very good lady.

There is no hype around Ron. He is the genuine article. I am a cynic too - who isn't these days? - but I have been watching this man for ten years now. We got a shot at a real guy here, but I'm afraid we only have one shot. Actually I would like to see Ron grab Cynthia for a running mate when that time comes.

There are some good guys still around out there, but we feel pretty alone sometimes.

If you can assume the BBC to be neutral in this, given their summary of the major players, and particularly that of Ron Paul, if he didn't win a poll on this site he may as well stop now...

No, it doesn't. It's not about ATS. I would direct people to Ron Paul's own web site and let him explain himself.

The problem with ATS is that we have a lot of rabid followers going "Rah! Rah! Rah!" making incredible unsubstantiated proclamations about the nature of reality, and generally being obnoxious. This is exactly what Ron Paul does NOT need, and exactly what happened last time. I say that from the standpoint of someone who was a delegate at my state convention last time. Ron Paul supporters were certainly enthusiastic, but they were obnoxious and ignorant of the political process, mostly newbies who were convinced using procedural tricks was a viable way to get Paul the nomination.

I was not alone in being turned off by this behavior. It was juvenile at best and sober adults did not appreciate it. It took me awhile to get over it and actually start listening to what Ron Paul had to say. If Paul is to succeed, he has to attract people like me. He has to attract the Tea Party AND the liberals, who are actually starting to liusten to him as well. This would be a dynamic coalition if Paul could pull it off.

I guess my major point is that talking about how great Ron Paul is in a venue "owned" by Ron Paul (more or less) is not what needs to happen. The idea is to form solid, sober arguments and outreach to people who are not yet Ron Paul supporters. Saying "Ron Paul is our last best hope or we're all gonna die!" is not the way to do it because people turn off to that kind of extremist rhetoric.

Winning a straw poll in Iowa or on ATS is not cause for celebration. Winning a poll by Zogby, Rasmussen, or Gallup is. Now: How do we get from the former to the latter?

The only way to accomplish this is to go door to door and spread the word. have discussions, round tables so the truth about him can be spread. Knowledge is power. Let's give America the knowledge about Ron Paul. It has to start in your home town. You can make the difference, but you have to want it. Register to be a delegate and put your vote for him. Get yard signs up, go to meetups get INVOLVED!

Maybe you missed the whooping he put on Romney and Ginghrich and Cain in Iowa? Maybe you have ignored all the major polls that show him in the top 3 and surging? Maybe you missed the fact that he is doing this well despite the media blackout!

Sorry, but Ron Paul is exactly what the country needs at this time. He is kind of an extreme Conservative, but that is exactly what we need to get the country steered back to the center. A moderate just cannot right the ship. The great Compromiser in Obama hasn't done anything but make it worse.

We absolutely must have a Ron Paul type president in 2012. Nothing less will do.

Your right about the whappin he gave in Iowa.
Extreme, I don't thinks so. Not once did Dr Paul play the middle of the road or compromise the Constitution. Thats where we all need to be for our nation to endure.
When this country gets firmly back on track, I don't want to go back.

Gods speed Ron Paul in 2012!

Paul is anti-astablisment and that is why he won't get elected the elite won't allow it. In my opinion his policies are not even that good all he says to retract and go back to how things where before indutrilasation. Many people will die and suffer if the United States just suddenly decides to downsize its government. Ron paul is not the solution, if we really want change we must protest and stop reading the machine. Plus I hate that Ron Paul is against gay marriage. That is just hypercritical

The thread was kinda derailed there for a minute.

I would like to bring up, the Ron Paul 2012 Store.
Not only will your money help support him monetarily, but these things also give great visibility to his name (conversation starters).

Bumper Sticker
Button (For Us College Goers & Purse Carriers)
Yard Signs

I, for one, will also be buying window chalk to write Ron Paul 2012 all over my back window. (:
Also, don't forget to register republican to vote in primaries! It is necessary, in order to get Ron Paul chosen.

Ron Paul 2012. (:

He is personally against gay marriage, but he recognizes that constitution supersedes his personal views. He believes the states should choose for themselves whether or not to allow gay marriage, not the federal government.
He feels the same way about the drug war. The states should choose what to allow, and what not to allow. If you don't like your states laws, work to change them or move to a state that does agree with you. That was kind of the reason they made it that way in the first place. Its hard for such a diverse population to have a true democracy without things like states.

Its time someone says it.

82% of ATSers voted for Paul in the ATS straw poll, and yet ....

Nearly 50% of the posts about Paul are negative - telling supporters your just a bunch of pot head and under age kids or Ron Paul simply can't win, Its all fairyland.

I call em the way I see them ... political trolls ... paid or otherwise ... loud and obnoxious.

Silent majority stay silent no longer ... Lurkers here stay silent no longer! Voice your opinion here and drive the trolls back into their caves where they belong.

BTW, I am a registered republican and I haven't changed to independent simply because I want to vote for Ron Paul here in the NC primaries. I voted for Paul in 2008 and when he didn't win I didn't vote for McCain or Obama.

I WILL VOTE FOR RON PAUL IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES HERE IN NC. I'M PROUD TO DO IT!!
