The Feb. 26 story by Michael King mentioned a "support rally" this week at the Governor's Mansion for Perry under the theme, "It's OK to Be Gay." The story mentions the numerous rumors that "the governor's marriage is in trouble, that his wife Anita has/will/may decide to divorce him, and that the issue is Rick's alleged infidelity, with one or another member of his administration of undetermined gender. [Rumors of this sort, about multitudinous politicians, circulate all the time, but the current Perry rumors are indeed extraordinary in their baroque detail and remarkable persistence.]"

During a recent conversation with a reporter in Texas, our founding editor asked about a pair of emails we recently received accusing Texas Governor and presumed Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry of being a serial adulterer. “Has he had an affair?” we asked. The reporter’s reply? “Gay or straight?” Wait … what? This is Rick Perry we’re talking about, right? The uber-right wing, Bible-thumping, anti-gay social conservative extremist who many Republicans view as the forthcoming Messiah of a l

Now as many of you who have come to know me already understand, I have no issue with anyone else's sexuality. Be whatever you want, as long as you don't infringe on someone else's rights while you are doing it. Though personally a devout heterosexual, I do have gay friends (and yes, some of them were male cheerleaders just as Gov. Perry was) , and I must say that they are the most NON hypocritical bunch I have ever met. And, I believe that is a good thing.

Rick Perry, however, is not in that camp. If indeed it comes to light that Governor Perry has participated in extramarital affairs of any kind, that means that the words he so regularly spouts out arent worth the paper his speech writer scribbles them down upon. If his "affairs" come to light as homosexual ones, that makes him a deceiver of the grandest kind. Possibly even in the realm of "Anti-Christ" kind. And THAT is truly scary, even if you are not religious to begin with...Think about that.

Just something to think about, and that's the truth...as I see it.

We already have a gay president. No big deal.

Embarrassing sure, but also unforgivable. This man has made a political career of going after the LGBT lifestyles, and being vocally against gay marriage. He holds Prayer meetings, and openly condemns members of these lifestyle groups as being unholy. All while most likely engaging in the same behavior he himself condemns.

I suppose he would be in good company though, probably has a seat reserved at bohemian grove already...

Pun intended.

Most openly anti-gay men are normally gay.

If you look at any picture of his wife, she always looks really grumpy. You can guess why.

This reminds of a party in Rome back in 45 bc. Caesar had just arrived and the party was taking off. Honeys everywhere, wine flowing like water, it was on. Octavian (Caesar Augustus) walks up to Caesar to say what's up and Caesar immediately starts having a seizure. Caesar had been standing next to a closet when the seizures began. He fell down and Octavian caught him and dragged him into the closet to lay him down, then closed the door. After a few minutes Caesar was alright. But before they left the room one of the slave cooks was standing outside the door. She heard lots of grunts and groans from the seizures. Then sees Caesar walking out with a young boy. Now what do you think she thinks?

Now, Caesar had Octavian swear to secrecy on this matter. Caesar could not let his enemies know of any weakness or sickness he may have. Not only his enemies, neither the people of Rome. So, when the rumors got out that Caesar was gay and was "eye witnessed" in the act, they never tried to change anyones minds. The truth, even though innocent, would have been much worse for Caesar had it gotten out.

This is just fighting for the presidency. The guy that wrote that article is probably paid by one of the other candidates to write such an article, the guy making this video is probably paid also. Or, could be that they did just hear 'rumors' of it. By the thing is, the guy that wrote the article 'looked' into it by hearing 'rumors' from another person. Then on top of that it was a phone call they got this rumors from. I've argued with my wife on the phone many of times and theres no telling what people could have thought we were arguing about. This is to discredit him.

he might be or he might be like most others; when someone tells you how bad something is you end up trying it just to see maybe he tried it and liked the feeling of being naughty so much that even if he is he dosnt want it to be legal so he dosnt loose the feeling of excitement he might get doing such. Or the rumors might be just that rumors and we all know how thoes go. But either way he wont be my pick for prez because I just dont belive a word he says and pauls just got something he dosnt.

That's not the point. The point is, you can't believe the rumors. Sometimes people think what they see and hear are not always what they seem. The author of the article is basing this off of rumors he heard from another guy who heard his wife arguing on the phone in her office.

point taken, but ages ago...an Army Lt. Col gave me some sage advice that has most always held true.

if it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck, swims like a duck, and has webbed feet, hes probably a duck.

I will tell you that these "rumors" are nothing new. As a life long resident of the great state of Texas, these rumors are not isolated and not single occurrences.

I think the OP is alluding to the fact that if Perry is gay, that he would be a fraud. He has many stances opposing the gay lifestyle. I don't think the American people like voting for hypocrites is all. That a man so strong in his convictions should at the very least live by them himself.

Neo, that is not why im out to make a point. Im making the point because:

1. he isn't Ron Paul...
2. He isn't a "right winger", He is a tried and true liberal who only became a repub after a deal with GWB in the Governors Mansion...
3. He is just another Neocon Nightmare waiting to happen...

I myself am neither Repub or Dem, but Rick Perry is puppet to the core.

Ron Paul 2012!

I hear you. Im just saying this isn't a partisan thread. That as much as you're dying to say Obama is a bad man right now, it isn't warranted. The thread is about a guy who openly opposes gay activists, possibly being gay himself. That certainly qualifies as political madness and belongs here.

And more to the point, he is already a fraud, but if the homosexuality issue plays out, he will be a fraud of the grandest nature...

I HATE HYPOCRISY.

embarassing? unforgivable? because a president is gay? or are you referring solely to Perry as a man? that, I agree, is an embarassment. but there is nothing for anyone to be embarassed about or forgiven for simply because they are gay. if he / she is a coward and chooses to live a life of lies in the closet yeah, I'll agree with embarassing etc., but not solely based on the premise that he / she is gay. ......... yo boys and girls, step into the 21st century ......... it's actually a fairly open world these days once you get the hell out of Texas that is.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Sure, it's definitely possible the man could be gay. But you just gotta be careful out there nowadays with so much flim flam floating around in the media. People go crazy for that top office and will do and say anything to have it, even if it means they have to spend their $10-15 million they worked their whole life for just to make $400,000 a year. Never understood that one.

During these election times, I tend not to believe anything I hear as a general rule of thumb. Neither the positive or the negative, but that's just me.
