UK Riots: Government Policing Stance

Does anyone else think that the goverment is taking an unreasonable approach to policing after the riots?

It seems they want to attack the symptoms instead of the causes.

Again, this sacrificing ALL of our liberties for the sake of "security". I don't think they're addressing the real issues here.

What's everyone else think?
