When unemployment money is being spent, the government is doing the spending by proxy. For a system to flourish, the people need to be spending their own money, money they earn by doing work that benefits them AND others.
When government spends the money, there is no benefit other than to the government.

(explanations by Beezzer. So easy, even a progressive can understand
)

How are your friends going to understand what you wrote? you forgot to include pictures and glitter or the damn cookies to reward the training session...

In the end, money is money, even the money there in your day care can purchase grown up drinks .

Is it better than worked for money?

Hell no

Does it help ensure that people can eat and that employers do not have to lay off as aggressively if at all...

HELL YES.

But clearly since the idea takes a bit of thought it must not exist, right?

Its all a one way street - you are stupider than a rock when it serves you, but you can also comprehend and recite the
inner workings of the capitalist engines...

when it serves you.

Will conservatives win the war with stupidity???

Tune in next week to find out.

Funemployment - living at home with the parents, goofing off, and spending all your unemployment check on junk. I guess when you are spending it, it does go into the economy. But the government takes it out of people's checks to put in an unemployment fund which keeps that amount of money from circulating to begin with. So isn't it technically a wash?

Of course, not everyone is out having the time of their lives - most are actually looking for work because they have families to support. My "funemployment" was tongue-in-cheek. Didn't you read the article that's been making the rounds for the past week about this new term and all the young people using their paid unemployed status to have a good time?
