Again, I repeat, please do not make this a political or religious thread. I don't care about those things, and it wasn't the point of the thread. I want to know what interesting sights there are to see, that's all.

Politics and religion bore me to tears.

Vacationing in Israel on your employers' dime, eh? Sounds familiar. You aren't a congressman, are you?

That's rather presumptuous, but, I feel compelled to answer anyways. My employer only expects me to work 8 hours a day. That leaves me 16 additional hours to eat, sleep, and enjoy the environment. My employer does not pay for my sightseeing, but I am allotted plenty of time to spend as I wish. That also includes two full weekends.

My employer also encourages enjoying the local area when traveling on the downtime hours. And no, its a private company, my salary is not paid for by public dollars.

Ha, I wasn't taking a jab at you, I was taking a jab at congress since the news yesterday was saying that 20% of them are going to Israel on vacation courtesy of AIPAC. I searched for the thread to link to, but the ATS search engine is as worthless as an 8-track, so I couldn't find it. But like I said, my comment was directed toward the fascist Israeli shills, not you.

As much as I would love to jump in and back you up.

The OP requested we keep on topic.

On that note.

Enjoy the hoy land, never been, would love to go.

As a J school student I would love to observe the mash of cultures or lack thereof.

If you end up seeing the "FENCE" that seperates Arabs from Israelis, take some pictures and keep in mind what goes on the other side of it.

Goodluck on your travels, and don't let the hisidics push you around.

Sorry for that. I was just angry at what DEV179 said. His kind of statement pissed me off when he doesn't have a clue at what is really going on.

Anyway, to the Op. Enjoy your stay but like I said be careful. Keep in with your security detail. They will know where you can go safely! I work in North Africa and even though there is no trouble here we still adhere to the security rules and curfews.

Incidentally security isn't a huge concern of mine, as I have co-workers who live there (we have an office there), and they have set aside time to go with me wherever I want to go, so I will be traveling with natives for most of the time.

I kind of figured security over there would be a concern, and didn't want to spend a lot of time by myself there, and they were more than willing to help me out on that one.

LOL no worries brother.
I had to bite my tongue as well.
If there was one thing I love debating its the Israel issue.
But this isn't about that, this is about the OP's trip to the controversial land, so lets make the best of it.

BTW please do a follow up with pictures, I would love to know what someones first time to israel is like.

Again, OP said they would prefer to not get into a political debate, so lets not make this into one.

As much as I would love to argue with you, not here, not now.

Its the holy land, home of many faiths. Let's just try and make this trip for the OP a prepared one, and hope we can get a follow up, upon impressions.

Your an idiot and so are half the people on here going on about zionists and all that crap, it is going back 50 years to the nazi's 'lets all hate jews eh' I am sick and tired of people jew bashing yet sucking the dicks of muslims, yes a lot of the elite are jews but they are also christan and other stuff about 2% of the illuminati are jews, palastine is a really really bad place and the muslims should all be blown up, Israel is a jewish country why deny them of this anyone who is on the side of the palastines or muslims in Israel I hate you.

Yeah that will be a good idea. Take some pics and post them. Sometimes it's better to have a tourists camera view rather than the the official picture view. Have fun!!
